Thanks, this is really helpful. Most characters I draw end up suffering from chronic-sleeping-with-eyes-open disorder and thus I have never really shown them to anyone. I really like how you haven't explicitly described how the facial expressions worked, but rather encourage the learner to interpret and analyse the expressions themselves- sure, I've analysed before but you've posed questions that encourage me to analyse in a way in which I haven't done before. Well done!

That one's easy. I know far too many dorks, and my sister-in-law makes THE BEST faces. I should have a reference photoshoot with her sometime, lol...

I used to think it was really good- And then I read 1984 and Stranger in a Strange Land. FAR outclassed, Eragon is now gathering dust at the back of my bookshelf, where it belongs. XD

Wait another few years/ good books and try it out again... at first I couldn't believe it got published, to be honest. So many unlikely and just plain stupid plot points and characters. Then I found out that his father is a lead editor or owner or something of a publishing company. Then it all starts making sense XD When it came out, it was represented as being written by a 16 year old (for some reason this was a selling point), but even that was false! He'd had the idea and started when he was 16, but it was published when he was 22.
Sorry I kind of have a hate boner for this book because it's so annoying and bad and yet it still has a readership. Just goes to show that if you have access to a bunch of people you can make anything famous, regardless of it's inherently awful qualities.
