For one of the projects at SCAD we had to choose 2 out of 3 different illustration markets (food, finance and fine art) and produce 2 illustrations that would fit those markets. The trick was that if you chose fine art the teacher would assign you the theme, unlike food and finance where you were free to find your own. Everyone in the class picked fine art as one of their choices, so the teacher simply wrote some themes and we drew them from his hat. Lucky me I got assigned 80's Videogames as a theme

My favorite idea (aside from a kinda abstract one about Asteroids) was Pacman as a really ugly monster in the eyes of the ghosts. I admit the idea is not that novel but I had tons of fun making this, replacing the pellets with little ghost eggs and drawing those guys being traumatized by that abomination feasting on their babies.
