(AN: First, I wanna say I've never written a story like this before. So, feedback is appreciated, please be nice about it though. If I need to fix something, feel free to say. I'm here to improve. :3 I'm still unsure where this takes place, but it's kind of an AU so I guess it doesn't matter? e3e I guess after the most recent episode. Which I think I still need to see. So sorry if anything is wrong or missing.)

"Floatie? Check. Goggles? Check. Towel? Check. Swim trunks? Check!" said the gem boy excitedly. Steven was this young boy's name, and he found it was a nice day out to head to the beach and swim in the ocean. Steven wasn't like other boys his age, for he, and the friends he lives with, are Crystal Gems. Though, he's half human, his dad being a human and his mom being a gem. Still figuring out his powers one by one but so far so good. Speaking of the Crystal Gems, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl were on a mission. Something about fixing an old gem place or whatever, nothing special so Steven didn't go. Instead he decided to go swimming. As he ran out to the balcony of the house, he saw something in the distance washed up on shore, something green and what looked to be...getting really curious, he dropped everything and ran to whatever was on the beach. As he ran and got closer he was shocked at what he saw. It was another gem, badly injured and weapon broken next to her. Suprisingly she didn't poof into her gem. Although it was just some cuts and bruises, but she was still in bad shape and needed care. Steven right away ran inside to get a medical kit, blankets, and a towel with rubbing alcohol to clean her cuts. He carried her in just in time for the gems to return back. All three gasped and Pearl exclaimed "Steven! What on earth happened?!" to which Steven replied "I-I don't know! I just found her lying on the beach, she looks hurt real bad but luckily didn't need to poof. Her weapon's broken and her cuts need to heal. Can you help me please?" all three nodded and quickly set things up. Pearl sighed once the washed up gem was clean and now recovering. Amethyst checked her gem to make sure it wasn't cracked or scratched. Garnet bubbled the broken weapon so it could be dealt with later. Steven sat beside the gem and rubbed her head. "Who is she?" he asked, "She's an old friend of ours who fought with us during the war. She left after to go protect other places on earth since we have Beach City, mainly to make sure no other Homeworld Gems came back without our knowing." Garnet said as she eyed the gem, seeing how bad of a condition she was in. "Her name is Emerald, but she always preferred Emmy." Amethyst added. Steven looked down at Emmy and began to move her hair to see her face, but Pearl quickly stopped him and shook her head "No, Steven. We need to leave her in peace so she can heal. Come on, why don't we watch something? Like that cartoon where the foods cry." sighing, Steven nodded and went upstairs to watch TV with the gems. However, he didn't enjoy it so much, as he was too busy thinking about Emmy. Hoping she was going to be okay. Who knows when she'd wake up.
