Rainbow Dash: Anytime, Twi. You know me: I never leave my friends hanging. So... what's on your mind? Is that Kamek jerk giving you trouble again? Because if he is...!
Twilight: No, no... It's not that. I called you over because... I just needed some company.
Rainbow Dash: Yeah? Well, of all the ponies you befriended, why did you summon me?
Twilight: No reason. *smiles* Rainbow... I just wanted to relax with somepony… Would you mind just... lying down her with me for a few minutes?
Rainbow Dash: Uh... sure.
(Twilight and Rainbow Dash sit by the fire, swapping stories and jokes. Soon, Rainbow slumps over, exhausted and yawning. Twilight joins her and puts her wing over her like a feathery blanket.)
Twilight: So... Rainbow...
Rainbow Dash: *yawns* Yeah...?
Twilight: How are you and Soarin doing?
Rainbow Dash: Pretty good. The cocky stud still thinks he'll outfly me someday, but the way he treats me almost makes me feel like a queen. Hahaha... He totally melts in my hooves every time we kiss, too.
Twilight: *smiles happily* I'm so glad you two are still going strong. Hihihihihihihi…
Rainbow Dash: So, uh... Did YOU end up finding a special somepony yet?
Twilight: I sure have.
Rainbow Dash: SWEET! Who is it???
Twilight: ...My friends.
Rainbow Dash: Errr… ALL of them???
Twilight: Uh-huh.~
Rainbow Dash: Whoa. That's no love triangle; it's a bucking love CIRCLE.
Twilight: Exactly. I... I adore all my friends so much, that it's impossible for me to choose between them. I'm closest with you, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rarity, but... I care about all of you so much, I don't think I could ever settle for one to be with.
Rainbow Dash: Twilight...?
Twilight: *looks sad* This is because of my very first friendship lesson. About not picking favorites. That day, I could've lost all my new friends just to keep one. I... I can't ever go through that again. I could never forgive myself if my friends ever thought I cherished one over any other. So... I decided that I'll never, EVER play favorites with you, or with anypony else. That's why I've hooked up Flash Sentry with Sunset Shimmer...
Rainbow Dash: I... I don't know what to say, Twilight... You missed out on a perfect stud so a friend could have him? I-I'm touched...
Twilight: That's because you're all more than friends! You're... You're family...
Rainbow Dash: *sniffs* C'mon, Twilight. Having a coltfriend doesn't mean you're playing favorites. ...Or a marefriend, if that's what you're into. I mean, I haven't started blowing you or the others off just because I have a necking partner, have I?
Twilight: True... I just... don't feel like I have the heart for it. So instead, I decided to offer every member of our team the chance to let them know how much I care.
Rainbow Dash: ...by just cuddling and laughing?
Twilight: Yes.
Rainbow Dash: ...Has anypony else been invited to these quiet get-togethers?
Twilight: Just you and Pinkie Pie, so far. But I plan on inviting all our teammates one at a time. I'm thinking of having Rarity over next, and all this is completely voluntary. They don't have to come if they don't want to. But for now... I think I'll just focus on you, Rainbow Dash, Bearer of the Element of Loyalty.
Rainbow Dash: Heh... You're so weird, Twi. *cuddles*
Twilight: *cuddles back* And that's NEWS to you...? *laughs*

Rainbow Dash's frown turned into a smile. Her body temperature was now back to normal with Twilight's wing wrapped around with her best friend. At that moment, Rainbow gave out a wink probably teasing Twilight but in a playing silly way. Rainbow felt terrible for being outside in the cold dark gloomy winter for too long. No matter, all she cared about was her friend by her side. Were they more than just friends? Could they possible be in a relationship? Twilight cares about her friends, but in the past she hated that word. All she wanted to do was focus on her studies. Her old self was in the past and now she was the Princess of Friendship. Just as Rainbow Dash drift herself to sleep, the words Twilight whispered were, "I love you, Rainbow."
