A photo to match my mood the other day. The day started off horrible with my computer taking a dump. An hour later I was back up and running. Unfortunately my day went downhill from there. I'm in much better spirits this morning.I've been trying to experiement with an extremely limited depth of field. Luckily one of my canon lenses goes all the way down to F 1.4
This shot was taken w/Jess using the modeling lights from my speedo heads. 200w with softbox at an ISO of 1600 to give it some noise.
As you can see with the depth of field... the subject is truly in focus.

I remember seeing this about the time that it went up when I was wandering around on my other account. I didn't comment on it then because I figured you would get swamped with comments and favorites, and didn't need to have my message on top of all the others. So I guess you can imagine how shocked I am at the lack of feedback.
This shot is everything that it could be. This idea isn't that rare, I suppose, but I think this image has captured everything that shots like this aim for. Blatant, obvious, direct--and at the same time beautiful, well detailed both on the hand and in the barely distinguishable figure. The grain gives it texture and roughness, and keeps the narrow depth of field from making the image soft, which is exactly what you wouldn't want. Everything that I could hope to see from this concept is in this image, and I think that's a superb achievement.
I wish others hd let you know the same.

As always thanks for your interest in my work. To tell you the truth sometimes I don't know how I pull it off. The stars and planets align correctly... and whalla I get lucky I guess.
I am truly flattered you like my work. I'm pretty modest when it comes to my photos. Everyone I know both in life and on DA have been very positive.... so I'm begining to come out of my shell... or at least realizing that I have some "good" shots.

It's rare that I find an image with two focal points that stand out so much (well, they do for me anyhow).
Hmmm, would be interesting to see this in colour; soft tones, soft lighting etc..
