Description
First tutorial
Hope it is helpful!
NOTE:
The amount of blur, should be determined by your eyes (the blur shown in the tutorial it's just for information)
You should take in consideration:
**The size of the image
**The amount of noise of the image
to determine the amount of blur and the techniques that you will use.

neatimage is so much easier and actually reduces noise.

Eesu In reply to danielzklein [2006-04-23 19:05:49 +0000 UTC]
i agree
but neatimage does make mistakes, perhaps they are better when combined (There are also other ways)
but my issue with the tutorial the pictures arent big at all, and they all look the same, how can we tell if noise has actually been removed?

You can apply the technique shown in the tutorial on one of your images and see the difference...
This tutorial wasn't made to spot the differences but to learn a technique that you can apply it to your images...
Cheers!

Yeah, I agree. I looked at the pictures and felt reminded of those "spot the differences!" puzzles in children's magazines. And, just like back when I read those, I couldn't see any differences at all.

But if you played "spot the differences", how many differences did you find?

Hmmm! That's some really informative stuff, there. My camera is kind of a piece of crap, but it's all I can afford... so I'm always looking for other ways to improve the quality of my photography. I'll definitely be trying this out in the future.

Could you clarify the formula that you used?
Is it: 100 x (1/Number of layers below) + 1
or 100 x (1/Number of layers below + 1) ?
Anyway, it's a clever technique. Good one...

100 x (1/Number of layers below + 1)
I was bored to draw the formula, so I wrote it

Thought it might be that one...the first one gives more than 100% opacity (says he noticing after posting)...
Thanks, I have a feeling that this tutorial will be an invaluable asset to many Deviants...

I must agree with mister moeffju.. It does reduce the noise (not completely) but it sure does add serious blur too..
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
sican In reply to Fliz [2006-04-24 08:40:59 +0000 UTC]
hehe, what to do...
I'm trying to reduce noise minimizing the effects..
But i have to disagree with moeffju, I don't know if he used the formula I showed him... He may be bluffing a bit..
