What a cute bird! I've always loved nuthatches and creepers - I love how they stop and start while they climb up and down trees.
I think you would gain more focus on the bird itself if either you heightened the contrast on the bird or took away the mid-grey background - the way it is now, it is a little hard to pick out the bird from its surroundings. When I first looked at this, my eye immediately went to the branch and didn't see the bird until a second of searching. I believe that is due to how much more contrast/dark values the branch has and how the bird is mirroring the same grey tones as the background. Oops - sorry to repeat myself

Oh wait - allow me to correct myself. My eye didn't go to the branch, but rather the undersides of the tail and wing feathers that are crossing the branch. Those are the darkest areas in this drawing.
