The cover design was made from a vectori illustration I made based on mario 1 / mario 3 artwork. I just rearranged the shapes and made a couple varied backgrounds. The overlaying text was added in photoshop afterwards.

Holy shit, that remix of Song 20 is absolutley amazing. I love stuff like this, very nice music you've got there. Ever heard Tony Bacalas music?
I want more stuff like this, where can I get it?

All my albums are available for DL on my site: [link] - just check the "Music and album design" section. Though the newest album "The Edge Of The World Party" is probably the most similar to these mixes.
You can also check my gallery, any images set up like this one, with the cases at the top are music releases.
Cheers.

you picked fantastic tracks for this album, dan. i think the real thing that draws me in is that these are remixes from games that i grew up playing, as well as tracks from games that i have played fairly recently (HL, HL2). overall the album has a great sound, and great art to boot. my favorite two tracks are Matoya's Cave and Song 20. as always, this is top notch.
a note to those who don't luck out and the songs go down, contact me and i can distribute through e-mail/AIM/MSN.

Do you mind if I list you in the Description as a person to get it from, whenever the links come down?

By checking the statistics, it dished out 2GB the first day, and about 400 megs the second day, and even less the third day. I'll probably just leave them up for a while as the brunt of the DLing is over. But thanks for the help anyway. I'd torrent/soulseek it out to more people myself, but I've already recieved a "bandwidth violation" letter from my ISP. And I know my account is flagged now, if I start dishing out a ton of bandwidth, "big brother's" watching.
Though if you, or someone you know wants to help out by handling all that torrent stuff, feel free to zip up the files and make a torrent of them. And I can link that (if they use links?) I personally don't have any BT programs.

yeah, it'd be the blind leading the blind when it comes to bittorrent, as i don't use it either. my main method of distribution would have to be over email (thanks to Gmail's attachment size/no filetype restriction except executables) or AIM/MSN.

Personally, I'm a soulseek user for music. Though it's usually for downloading songs, not spreading mine to other users.

Thanks for the distribution offer. I was thinking of putting something in the description when the links go down, if people who'd DL it would be able to help distribute it.
Since it's getting such feedback, I'll probably leave the links up a little while longer.
..and on a side note, "Song 20" is actually one of the first songs you hear in the game, comes WAY before song 15. Out of order, bigtime.

Cool. It would be nice if you put up like a zip or rar of all the tracks. A torrent would rock too.

I've found that with a large file containing everything, a lot of bandwidth is lost. Plus, some people only want 1-2 tracks, and wouldn't want to DL the whole thing.

I proposed it to someone else a second ago... but if I could find some people who'd be willing to use BT to help spread an album out to other people, I could send it directly to a couple people before it's release, and get it nicely seeded for when the release is posted, to help ease off the server load.
I'll probably make a journal about it around the time the next album is released.

lancelottjones In reply to smashmethod [2005-07-14 14:40:37 +0000 UTC]
cool. I'd happily seed it.

Just be on the lookout for the journal about seeding out Console Collective, Vol. 2 if you could, when it's ready to be released. If you want to seed out Vol. 1, please feel free to do so.
