Description
βI am a siren, and for my adoration of mankind, have been caught in fishing nets one time too many. And in those fishing nets I have learned too many unfavorable things about human intentions and the lack of trust and goodwill; I'm not going to allow myself to be caught, anymore. Sirens do well at singing the sirens' song and dragging vile people to their deaths, andfor good reason!β - C. JoyBell C.
[First off, this is not at all my concept--I was utterly inspired by a shot of karrah.kobus photography's (check out its amazingness here: [link] ) and wanted to see if I could re-create something similar. I was so impressed by the fact that she and her model only did one take that I wanted to give it a whirl, and this was the result. One thing I learned: the continuous shutter mode on Scott's camera (which is what I'm borrowing while Ludo is sick...) isn't as fast as I'd hoped. I would've liked to have caught her down just a *bit* further, but I got this one and the one *right* before she hit the water.
ANYWAY, Erin! She's amazing. Amazing, I say! I love working with her, not only because she is willing to do the most uncomfortable of things, like this, but also because she's just a fantastic person. I'm exhausted and rambling now. The end.]

Finally, there's enough time for me to comment on this magnificent photo, in the middle of moving and work.
I can completely sense the backwards motion hereβit's like I'm looking at a picture that both moves and stands still simultaneously. If a siren were to rise from the waves to roam the dry lands, she would no doubt do it like this, like a backwards videotape. It completes the surreal enchantment sirens are endowed with.

I can happily say it's going well. There were two simultaneous moving projects; we were also moving away the shop of my missus, as she now mainly concentrates on her webshop, retailers and sales events. It remains to be seen when a new physical shop will be opened. In our new home, she now has one extra room for her worksβit was sorely needed.

She makes jewelry and accessories from recycled materials.
Her company's Facebook page can be found here: [link] (cover photo by meeeeee )
...and here you can find some of the pics I've taken of our beautiful models, wearing the jewels and accessories: [link]

Great composition. So how did you manage to get her to lean to the side like that? Photoshop or did you rig something? Love the photo SmokyPixel , your art work is always a joy to watch. Keep it up , you're doing great.

She fell into the water, and I captured the shot before she hit! And thank you very much! I enjoy making it, so I'm happy that others enjoy seeing it too!

It's a great shot nevertheless! Kudos to Erin for keeping that position whilst falling! It's not so easy to fight the urge to flail on the descent. x3

Beautiful! This is more beautiful than the original concept if I must say. The model looks not only absolutely gorgeous, but perfectly calm and in peace, as if the Siren herself has been swept into a dream. The background is indeed a perfect scenery for this shot. Absolutely perfect overall. Hats off to you.
