Description
Ok, this is a compilation on some notes I have taken over the past 5 years or so. This is a tiny snippit of that information. I have reams and reams of information to go through and organize. I want to publish a book on my ideas.no one has ever publish an anatomy book based primarily on women. Sure there have been "how to draw Comic Females" and "how to draw Anime Females" But never a "How to draw female anatomy" book.
So tell me if you think these patterns are useful. Let me know if the help you draw females better.

Heh, I guess they must have skipped all that scientific data when I was in highschool. They still taught Testosterone for men...Estrogen for women, even though both genders have it in their system.
Honestly I don't see male or female as the 'norm' for our species. I would consider Both, paired, as a normal for the species. Like 2 pieces of a puzzle. If someone grows a third arm, or eye...then we have something to compare to
However, I study mostly women...probably because I'm male....but mostly because they are harder to draw! I figure if I master Fems, then males will be easier.

This is actually University level Biology I have been filling your poor head with. Both female and male are important to all species with sexual reproduction, I am totally in agreement there. What I meant to say was that males are the induced sex amongst mammals, but I didn't find a good synonym for it.
Induced just means it takes that little extra push for it to happen. Incidentially, females are the induced sex amongst birds (and most likely was amongst dinosaurs).

My head is filled with bits and pieces of important, yet useless information. I welcome it, actually
Now I seem to remember that you are correct. All humans are female because the Egg of a Female...is well...female (put into extreme layman's terms) So it is up to the male's reproductive powers to determine sex.

Yeah, that is more or less the deal here. Women choose what guy to go to bed with and the sperm "choose" the gender of the kid.

Well, you have to agree that women don't always get to choose who to go to bed with .

Unless you honestly want me to go into the scientific hypothesis in behaviour ecology surrounding human rape behaviour and prostitution, I won't... But I see your point. Though, mostly in nature, females get to choose. This has to do with the so called fitness of the offspring. If a less fit buck rapes a more fit female, chances are that offspring won't reach maturity, and both are at a loss, so to speak. Especially the female in the case of mammals. See, the norm amongst mammals is that females raise the offspring on their own, with little to no help from the father.

Wow, that's amazing....
i study medicine, and i always like the human anatomy and perfection (quite obviously i think everyone does love it)... and drawing, too, despite i am so poor, drawing...
it very very well done... you are very skilled...
to know how to do something, may be more or less hard, but to know how to help & teach, it's surely harder...
great job...

Thank you very much!
Well I certainly hope this tutorial can help in medical drawings, although since I am not pointing out specific muscles and or groups, I am not sure how else this tut would apply to medicine
I love to teach what I know. Although finding an audience is the hardest part of all

sure it is... i was not talking about medical drawings... but i saw that knewing medical facts, well,... it helps.. i just appreciate your way of generically underlining muscular groups, to "build up" the image
i really like it

Though i woldn't say that iI've got problems with painting females i found the patterns really useful. I always like to be able to habe a view on how other Artists draw things, espaccially females. So I made some sketches just the way you described and i think this improved my knowledge of drawing females!

This is exactly what Ive been looking for; something to teach us how to draw a female anatomy if we dont have time to do all that stuff like life drawing classes. I think its a brilliant idea Kudos!

Snigom In reply to Aimless-Freak [2008-05-05 12:46:13 +0000 UTC]
Thank you These ideas came about because I needed relationship-like patterns to remember correct proportion. I was at first scared to show these designs due to negative criticism I received from a close friend (at the time.) Once I realized my friend's comments were out of jealousy I finally released these patterns. I have since then learned that these designs are understood and welcome by the general public and are not "The workings of a mad man" as my ex-friend had put it. So again I thank you for your support!
