Description 2 new plaques to give more prestance to the design. This version is set with 5 garnets (the round ones are 11mm round for reference) We could add a 3rd dangling pear at the center but i kind of like it that way with its "collar" look.. *ponders*

oh man what an elegant design. I'm a sucker for the lovely deep red of garnets and the interlocking swirlies.

Man oh man, you must really love your swirlies XD But that is a good thing right?

The only thing I dont like about this is that mask.

Seriously though, so beautiful! It's a shame it goes so low as to be covered up by her dress.

Tell me how long have you been crafting? This seems to say years and years of experience!!

Your work is stunning! And I assume you cast the jewelery, not making it by hand.

But there is one thing I'm wondering about. Do you design your jewelery yourself, or has someone else designed it, and you just make it?

I design everything myself, sometimes it's highly inspired by historic pieces or at least styles.. If it is gold, I make everything, casting included when I need casting, granulation, wires etc...
For collections in silver, I make the prototype and mold it. I then cast the copies but I always "adapt" them with different wires etc so they are never the same in the end.. Many thanks !

Absolutely GORGEOUS! Wot do you use to make your pieces? All I have available to me is jewellery bars and various components and then I bend them into shapes. But they look rather tacky compared to crafted metals.

though the middle dangly would probly make it pretty alone, the way it is looks really good for the neckline fo that dress.. a lot of times necklaces look funny with square necklines...

beautiful. i want your jewelry

if i go to prom (little difficult when doing home school but.....) then I want to buy a necklace from you

psh screw that i'll call you when i am getting married you can make my ring :

i think a dangling thing at the front would look good to balance the two side ones it certainly wouldnt hurt the thing, its GORGEOUSE!

This is really amazing. I love its collar look, but also how it goes lower on the person wearing it than a usual collar design. Awesome work, unbelievable!

Just a quick question -- how do you do this kind of stuff? Metalworking? Do you buy some metal and mold/cut/bend it, or what?

Depends... (bad answer, duh ) For this one, I carved in wax then soldered the sterling wires on. Many thanks for the comment

The garnets are truly striking. I think the added dangles on the right and left are very appealing to the overall design. Well done!

*drool* im officially putting your entire site on my christmas list. your jewelry has exquisite taste and is large enough to make a statement but not be gaudy. you art is a unique style that is very calming to look at. i really like the red with this necklace but i think that a dark blue would be stunning.

I really like this one. Its generic enough to attract a broader crowd than some of your others too, which I like. It would make it easier to buy as a gift for someone else.

I agree that the collar look is something of more value than adding another stone. You could always add the stone in back as a counter weight...thingy? Forgive me as I do not know jewlery vernacular. Anyhow, you've produced another beautiful piece of work. I hope Lady Urnes is pleased with the design. I know I would be.

somk In reply to BeeSideBeauty [2005-10-28 13:48:23 +0000 UTC]

You're perfctly right.. In fact, I added a garnet dangling in the back but I'm afraid I will need to design a "center piece" for the back as well. For the moment, it works because you can "curve" the extra plaques so they rest on the shoulders but a back focal is imho too the way to go with this sort of heavy design. Many thanks !
