Description
I heard about the contest waaay late, but managed to churn this guy out in a couple days.I went with the theme of nature reclaiming the earth. Instead of post-apocalyptic over-growth or vast storm desolation, I just decided that mother nature would conjure up a horde of organic mutants-- comprised of the earth itself-- and wipe man off the face of the planet.

Absolutely amazing! I like how beast draws your eye, but if you focus on the background, you can see all the others roaming the Earth. I very much prefer this to raining fire and such.
I dread the day this comes, if it is in my lifetime, because it will be the end of me, but I also rejoice. Nature was here before us; it even created us, whether on purpose or on accident, and has helped us along the way. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to illustrate the concept, then spent more time thinking about how to do the apocalypse more interestingly. Decided that if there is a mother nature, what would her children look like?

there was a lion turtle in it and it lived in the water. it was like a moving island. the creatures you drew up remind me of that =]
