Description The dadipith (Greek words, “dadí” and “píthikos”, meaning “punk ape” respectively) is an arboreal primate-esque bipedal creature resident to the jungles of central Giyudi.
Its body length measures up to 79-82 cm (31 in.) long with its height measuring to 53 cm (20 in.) tall.
Unusual among members of “Duopoda” (an order of bipedal creatures), the dadipith has two long hydrostatic muscles behind its front legs that act as hind limbs to aid the dadipith when climbing on canopies. Of course, being a duopod, the muscles can also be retracted under its dense fur when walking bipedally on land.
Sexual dimorphism is present within this creature. Males are slightly bigger and more colorful than females, sporting distinctive red dense dorsal fur ranging from the back of the head to the top of its tail, hence the meaning of the name, “punk ape”.
The dadipith is primarily a herbivorous folivore, with its diet mainly consist of leaves but also feeding on seeds and fallen fruit.
This bizarre duopod rarely descends to the ground and is generally solitary, except when it’s a female with its offspring. It is also diurnal, with its activity period lasting up to 6 to 11 hours during daylight depending on the weather and seasons. During nighttime, the dadipith sleeps in trees from 100 feet above the ground.
