Right, so this is my first ever critique. I thought maybe I'd write you one since you ask for them pretty often and also since you're not publishing (and drawing?) as many humans as cats; so I hope I can help you a little bit by sharing my humble opinion. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="

About the vision and why I rated this a full five stars: I love the dark theme you chose and how you realised it. The atmosphere suits it perfectly and I love the eyes being the only contrast and how they are adding to that mood of mystery and strangeness. The rain and that waving scarf both accumulate as well, just like the undefined and simple background that doesn't distract the focus from the character. Also, I love these scratches on their face. Their mouth is not visible - I think that is very important to mention. 'Cause they could very well be smiling or not - we don't know. Their hand kinda indicates a slightly welcoming gesture in my opinion, I'm honestly not sure how to interpret that. But it definitely adds to that atmosphere of mystery mentioned before.
About the originality: I see this deviation to be something rather simple and as for me I wouldn't attach too much importance on originality. We see a 3/4 headshot, a human character and a simple background consisting of circles. What does make it kinda original are the glowing eyes, the hidden mouth and especially the scratches. Also, it's not often that I see a grey dot in the middle of the pupil, so that's a nice detail to mention. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="

I'm not yet a professional artist, but I'll try my best to explain why I gave for stars in regards to the technique. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

I really like your lineart. Five stars, definitely! I especially love how it kinda vanishes around the nose or the nail. Also, it changes its colour according to the light.
Speaking about light, I don't really see where the main light source originates from? Clearly, the eyes form one - but how is the hair brightened, then?
And the shading, in general, is kept at a simple level, I love it looking at the scarf, the hair or the hand, yet I wish for a bit more depth considering the face. (Yep, I admit, I'm sure I wouldn't do any better, but I hope you get what I mean? e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="

The scarf and clothing, in general, impresses me a lot; just like the hand, wow, I gotta point at the hand! Well done! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="

One thing I don't what to think of is the left eyebrow. It seems to be thicker than the right one. I don't directly evaluate this as a little flaw, it could be a trait of the character, yet it does irritate a little.
About impact: For it being a rather simple drawing, I love what you've created here! It's the atmosphere that impacts me the most, these glowing eyes and the waving scarf, the super well-drawn hand, the rain and the character's mysterious scratches. There's a lot going on here that we don't know of. And I think this is what exerts the biggest impact. Concerning emotions; it doesn't really evoke any emotions at all. No laughing here, nothing cute, nothing sad or whatever - that's just the goal of this drawing: Some mysterious, dark and interesting piece.
You've perfectly achieved that.
Well done! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/d/d… " width="21" height="15" alt="

ahhhHH! thank you so so much for your critique, once again you made my day <3
I understand everything you were saying, i was having some trouble with the shading on the face, in fact - just couldn't get it to look right, so I left it kind of bare ^^' something I'll definitely work on in the future.
I'm so glad it came across as mysterious and just overall emotionless, because that's pretty much what I was going for!
thank you again for your words, I appreciate every single one of them qwq

Yaay, so glad I did; makes it all so very worth it!
I've tried face shading as well a few times - it really is a struggle. I'm glad you could understand what I mean and that I could be helpful - what I was going for has been achieved as well!
You're super welcome, makes me so happy to hear!
