your process is amazing... you actually draw her atomically before you put the dress on her, sometimes i think i do not have enough patients to be an artist.

thank you, painting the figure first isnt really necessary all the time but I wanted to make the dress sheer and show her form

any help for doing anything at all in painter x is what i need. i appreciate the link to your tutorials and will use them to at least get some idea how to do anything. you may do it your way, but if it works, that's all that matters to me. i can try my own ways once i get the hang of using it. nobody seems to offer any tutorials without paying for them, and videos don't really work that well for me.

My best tip is to not get bogged down with brushes. I just use one usually (details oil brush) and a blender (smear). Good luck

Holy cow - I could study this for hours. The play by play is amazing, as is the finished original piece. I'm as entranced by her posture and actions as I am by the objects you chose to surround her with. NICE!!!

You know what I like about this particular work of yours? You were able to produce a painting with a decent composition even though you started with a linear rather than a tonal approach. I'm not sure if I'd be able to pull-off something like that without having trouble. You did it nicely. Congratulations on having created a nice piece.

I find this sort of visual tutorial very helpful and love seeing the different ways artists produce their works.
I've been meaning to try starting in monochromes and then later colouring, so I'm glad to have found this tutorial and all of your links!

This is brilliant!

You and me both! I tend to go nuts with colour and then wonder why things don't look as real as I'd like.
