There is a large homeless and sick population in Vancouver, and a lot has to do with the decline in services available to these individuals. This man may not have needed the Riverview psychiatric institution that closed down some years back, but is desperately in need of some kind of help from the government, who has been closing down drug rehab sites, and trying to close western Canada's only safe injection site.

Its sad that for being so bold, and writing those three dreaded letters "H I V" on a sign, he gets treated even worse, and more invisible than passers by already make him.

The reusable cloth bag to me, in a way seemed selfish, as far as to say that 'I save the environment by being green, but I can't (won't? don't need to?) do anything for this guy'
