Anywho, yep. Figured this could help out a lot of people who don't already know about it LOL.

---Yes haha when you use the points > USD conversion, it will take two weeks before you can withdraw the Earnings as points. Not only that, but if you use the conversion, dA will take 20% of the points. So you may have it up for 100points, but when you withdraw, it'll only be 80points.
So I suggest if you want to sell your commissions/etc for points only, that you do NOT use this Premium Download and just get points the normal way.

How to trade points and USD?
To do that, one person would simply send the points to the other person via the donation widget on their profile, or giving it to them with the Give button (the same as you do llamas).
Then the other person would send them the equal amount of USD separately through PayPal or whatever else.Β
This tutorial isn't a point calculator, it's a tutorial explaining how to use the Premium Download feature.Β

The Commissions Widget works just the same way, yes!Β
Once someone requests a commission via the widget and you accept, it should go directly to your earnings.

No problem at all!
Nope, donated points are just fine and they stay as points. The only time points go into your earnings is when you get them through the commissions widget or premium download. Any points gifted to you or donated through a donation pool will stay as points.

Since I didn't see it, your Paypal has to be verified to withdraw from DA using it. (Unless they changed that). As far as I know, to do that you just need to have a card connected to it and verify that it is your card.Β

That is against dA's TOS regarding the Premium Download.
If you find another way, such as using other accounts/similar to send back and forth, you have the potential of getting suspended/banned from using the Premium Download feature. (not your account suspended/banned, but the ability to use Premium Download to convert)
So it's your choice if you'd like to take a risk haha. I've tried even with only 400points in the past and got a warning about a suspension. Β

The minimum amount of points you can convert is 10 and the maximum you can convert at one time is 8000.
Though for example you could convert 8000 as many times as you like haha.

I'm not exactly sure what you're being specific about so I'll just explain it as a whole haha.Β
Say you have a deviation up that has a premium download for 500points.
That deviation can be sold an infinite amount of times- so 10 different people could buy that deviation and you would get the $5 from it every single time.
However, they only have to pay for it once.Β
So for example, say I bought your deviation. I would pay my 500points to be able to download that deviation, but then if I wanted to download it a second time, I would not have to pay for it a second time.
You would still get the $5, but only that first time I downloaded it since it's free for me to download again after I do so the first time.

Yes you can! All you have to do is click on the deviation, go to edit it, and on the right where "Premium Content" is selected/checked, just uncheck the box and it'll take away the payment option. (:

So let me try and wrap my head around this. If I sell something for, let's say 200Β what I do is put up the image and then as premium content sell like a closer zoomed version of the image or something. Like upload a cropped version of a commission and then put the full drawing under premium content.Β

If you transfer points into money, yes, it will take 20%. Which only means that instead of $1.00 = 80 
Any time you set up a premium download or a commissions widget, dA automatically takes into account the 20% difference and when you go to type in your price, it will show as 100
Say you sell something for 500points and have waited your two-week processing time and are ready to withdraw the money. You WILL receive $5.00, no more and no less, for that 500points because the 20% was already factored in before you even initially set the price.
What I was trying to clarify previously was if you want points and only points, no money, then you shouldn't use the commissions widget or premium download to take those points (and should use the donation pool/etc instead) because not only will you have to wait two weeks, but instead of getting 100points per $1, you'll be getting 80points per $1.
The REASON for that difference is this:
Any time you buy something from deviantART, dA will take a 20% processing fee from whatever you RECEIVE. When you use the premium download to take points from other deviants, it automatically processes the points and turns it into withdraw-able currency. When you take them back out as points again, you are essentially buying the points from dA (like if you were to buy points normally) because the points you initially received now exist as currency, not points. You are buying the points, that's why the 20% is there.
$1 = 80points ONLY WHEN:
You buy points, you buy prints, you buy dA merchandise, you sell prints.
$1 = 100points ONLY WHEN:
You sell premium downloads or use a commissions widget
