Anywho, yep. Figured this could help out a lot of people who don't already know about it LOL.

---Yes haha when you use the points > USD conversion, it will take two weeks before you can withdraw the Earnings as points. Not only that, but if you use the conversion, dA will take 20% of the points. So you may have it up for 100points, but when you withdraw, it'll only be 80points.
So I suggest if you want to sell your commissions/etc for points only, that you do NOT use this Premium Download and just get points the normal way.

I don't know what a P2U is haha.
All I'm saying is that if you want someone to buy their commission with POINTS and you want to keep the payment as POINTS (not turn it into real currency), then no you should not use Premium Download because:
1. It'll take two weeks to get the points that you could have gotten instantly if you'd taken them normally.
2. dA will take 20% of the points when you withdraw them.
So if you want points and only points, no converting them to currency, then you should take points the normal way via donation pool or having them send points the way you send llamas.
Now, if you DO want to turn the points into currency, then yes using the Premium Download would be absolutely fine haha. It will still take two weeks to process, but it's fine to use!

yeh, a Pay 2 Use is when you upload a downloadable file (usualy a PSD file) with lines and whatnot for others to use. then you kinda need to use the premium download to make them pay for the file and get it at the same time. all at once..
well, I was just wondering if there was another way, rather than DA to be so rude and take 20% of the payment.. ; ;

well I suppose just charge a little extra than you normally would to make up for the 20% lost.
100points = $1.
Or, alternatively, you can have the lines up with a watermark or whatever (like how you would with the P2U I assume) and have people send you points through the donation pool or giving them to you.
Then, upload the PSD file to your stash and link it to them through a note.

If you don't have paypal, can money still sit in your account, ready to be withdrawn once you have paypal? Or do you need paypal in the first place in order to recieve any $$ whatsoever, even if you aren't planning on withdrawing it?

As far as I know, you can gather money in your Earnings and keep it there as long as you like, even if you don't have a PayPal to withdraw it to.
(I haven't had my PayPal disconnected from dA in a long time so I can't say for sure lol but I'm 99% sure)
dA does not automatically withdraw your Earnings to your PayPal and I know often times I've forgotten about money I was waiting on and it's sat in my earnings for days, weeks even, so I assume even if your PayPal wasn't connected, it would do the same. <:
That, and you are able to use the money you collect from Premium Downloads to buy points without the actual money ever leaving your account. So it would make sense that it could sit in your account until you have your PayPal connected haha.

Yes, you have to wait two weeks. So, for example, say you sold something for 1000points and are waiting to withdraw it as $10. You will see the $10 in your 'Pending Transactions" on your Earnings page, but it will take two weeks for it to finish pending so that you can withdraw it to your PayPal.
If you look just below it, it should say "Clearing in ____ days", meaning that's how much longer you have to wait.
As for withdrawing, it should prompt you to connect your PayPal account whenever you first withdraw any sort of cash from your Earnings.
You also must have a $5.00 minimum to withdraw. If you are trying to withdraw less than $5.00, you will have to earn a bit more until you have $5.00 or more to withdraw.
Then it should let you. (:
