Description
Beautiful scene in the manga where Darren puts on suddenly realises that his Father-figure and mentor, Mr Crepsley, is dead and gone. He puts on Larten's coat, and cries into it.The Sadness.
I only coloured this in with gimp.

Yeah - it was not in any way a quiet, heroic death - the idea of him screaming and writhing in stakes, with lit fuel on top was horrible - and how his bones were just left there.
I really wish Darren'd buried them. :[

oh man, when I read this, I was torn. Especially in the novel, it was ten times worse! D: I must say though, that top picture of darren hugging Larten's jacket is probably my favorite.

Yeah, the mangas have been great. I really love how they depict Darren crying into Larten's coat. It's a really touching scene.
I liked how here, Darren looked in the Mirror and saw Mr. Crepsley looking back at him. Was really sad. :'[

Though I love the detail in the novels, the manga is amazing. You don't usually find both of them being just as good as the other.

The novels are just sublime!
What I like about the mangas though is how they take the emotional elements from the novels, and then really, with such great illustration, really make it that more heart wrenching!

Oh I agree! I actually read the manga first, before I found out that it was a novel. My friend showed me the manga. Though you get more detail with the words in the novel, the manga version and the drawings were beautiful and very accurate! OuO
I haven't seen the last two mangas yet, but I wanted to see how they draw out the ending scenes. ;D

i love how you expressed the emotions, done really well. also the way he holds the coat looks moving and connective. i havn't gotten this far in the books but it seem like i'm gonna cry when i read it.

Yeah, the books are incredible, and the manga, even though it's very faithful to the books (almost exactly) it has a more expressive emotionality to it!

i threw the book at th school mascot ~we were haveing band marching practice~ and i started cryiwhen i acctually found out he did die and was not saved. he broght the book back to me and gave me a hug *he also read he book* and i felt better......then i re-read it and threw it accross the band hall X____X
