Gray seal and her cub, on the Düne near Heligoland. It's their birthing season now, and I managed to take some snapshots. I wish I had a better cam, though, it's a photographer's paradise at the moment. But this is the best I got.Related content

Ob die Mama wohl mal neben dem Hobie vorbeigeschwommen ist, als ich von Amrum nach Sylt gesegelt bin? Da ist ja eine der anderen beiden Robben-Kolonien in Wattenmeer.

Ach, wärste mal kurz die paar Kilometer raus nach Helgoland geschippert. Da ist schonmal jemand in der Nähe, den ich kenn... x)

mal sehen... Amrum - Helgoland-Düne sind... knapp 60 km, also 32,39 Seemeilen.
Bei dem Wind und damit 7 knoten Tempo wären das ein Trip von 4 stunden 40 für eine Strecke gewesen

Well, this seal pup is lucky. Most of the seal pups in the north are killed for their fur...and those not killed yet get spray-painted by activists so they don't get killed.
Sucks to be the northern white one. =< All that drama...

Ja, schade wegen der Kamera.. das Bild sonst ist sehr schön, mit dem Boden der aussieht wie die Robbe

Die Eltern sieht man auf dem Kies und Sand fast nicht, während die Heuler auf dem Schnee beinahe unsichtbar sind. Clever eingerichtet von der Natur! ^^

Und ja, find ich auch fantastisch.. wie sich Tiere so tarnen und auch dass die kleinen Robbentiere von weiß zu dunkel wechseln.. cool^^
