Next thing I upload here will be detailed again, I'm sorry.Anyway, this was a funny thing that said.
Mafundi and ~tabalon were having a discussion about coincidence, and in that context Taba mentioned string theory. At that second Oli, who had been silent all the time, blurted out "I hate string theory!" which was rather curious for him to say.
But honestly, nobody likes string theory.

according to quantum theory i can walk through a wall if i know i can.......? and according to quantum theory eventually every thing will cease to exhist. like matter stuff its self. idk some sorta forc is gonna break every atom apart and verything will end...idk... i ssound like a nerd. but every thing ending is a really cool and incredibly dperssing concept.........

Um... no, not quite.
You're right in that small particles can pass through other objects sometimes; it's called quantum tunneling. A person could theoretically phase through a wall, but the chance event of every particle in your body doing it at once would take longer to achieve than the current age of the universe. You would need an infinite lifespan to even attempt that (not to mention patience).
The universe won't cease to exist; it would keep on spreading apart until all but the simplest particles break free from each other. But if enough dark matter exists (which it very well could), it's more likely that the universe will pull back in under its own gravity - a "big crunch," so to speak. Add string theory to the mix, and it'll "bounce" back out again once it gets small enough, starting the cycle again.
Just thought I should set the record straight so people who don't know anything about quantum mechanics won't be misinformed.
And I have to disagree here: I think string theory is awesome. If you have trouble understanding it, try reading Brian Greene's book, "The Elegant Universe." He does a good job of explaining things.

Right. Nobody likes String Theory. It's murder to read, and walking the fine line of making sense and head exploding to watch! But it's sort of interesting.
Oh, and by the way, your art is a compilation of tiny little MASTERPIECES! I MEAN EFFING SERIOUSLY!!!! *cough cough ahem* The point is your good. I could probably SORT OF get a little close to ALMOST good enough to be seen as decent, but all I do is doodle, so...*shrug* I just need to commit to something good.

ARG! I hate it when people say : "I hate this, I hate that..." The String Theory is only a way to understand the conception of everything subatomic particles and their properties. I know it's complex, but it doesn't mean to bring any hatred. So far, it is the best theory developed to understand our universe but yet has many uncertainties. Figuring out the world is made of tiny strings, almost invisible to our knowledge, is quite something and people who are not involved in any kind of level of physics might find it hard to believe. But it's an essential step toward understanding fully what's around us.
Actually things may not be the way the String Theory says and its too mathematical for 99.95% of us, but saying we hate it just because it's full of something we don't understand isn't better. Anyway, how do you think things are really in the little tiny microscopic subatomic world?
Physicist point of view. I love the String Theory, I learned to love it while reading and finding appropriate sources that enlightened me. Bryan Greene's books are great (but hard to understand and follow).

i kinda get why your friend hates string theory. it's kind of compilicated for him and it's easy to get lost in all of it due to the fact it is something that you would have to spend all your life trying to learn it and even for me it's REALLY hard explain.

I thought membrane theory is the thing now days because it does away with the a paradox found in string theory regarding the Big Bang. feh what do I know? I majored in literature. The universe is here and we've just got to deal with it.
