Well, humans used to treat other humans like this, and although some of that shit still exists today, there are many cities where black and white people live in relative harmony. So Zootopia is totally possible.

By god, that's horrible! No mother should ever have to kill their child to save them. And the fact that she was forced to listen as her family, and DAUGHTER even, tortured for hours. At least now she has a damn good reason be be as cold as she is towards Rusk. But still....

The trauma... I can only imagine the trauma... She rather quickly take her own son's life than to have him suffer to the paws of the predators... And she most likely believed she would have died there, and reunite with her children soon after... I can't imagine how broken she must have felt to survive the ordeal, only to not have been able to do so while saving her children... I like to hope that somehow, there is potential for change for her, to come to terms and realize that perhaps not all predators are the same; however, she seems to be that type of character that has gone through too much trauma and pain to have any possibility to recover. I can easily see her never coming to the acceptance of Rask while still hoping she somehow would. Her character has been an incredible buildup, from her initial introduction to the revealing of the reasoning for her nature. She just feels real, like despite the story being fiction, the events in their past have a realistic impact on the characters' current behaviorisms. Thus far, she is among my favorite characters - I anticipate how she may or may not develop past her demons.
Amazing job as always, never failing to tear at the heart strings! Gosh - you make me wanna consider making my own comic again!

Hmm I wonder if maybe at some point both she and Rask can kinda be on even terms if they both learned of the horrific things they had to go through and how they both lost so much. Rask lost his family too and I'm gonna assume that the whole 'seeing everyone eaten by gluttons' must be pretty horrific too.

They essentially don't speak the same language, so I'm not sure how she'd go about communicating that. They were stabbing her to get past her, after all. From the cats point of view... If you were looking at a table of different sandwiches and you were really craving ham and cheese in the back, even if the PB&J was closer, you'd probably make the extra effort to grab the one you had a taste for.

I'm wondering that too, now that you mention it. They looked like they had enough work done on the tunnel for the kit to hide while Hemlock offered herself as a distraction.

Seems like they were really just hungry for the kit. If they had hidden in the tunnel, the cats might have jumped down for him anyway. Tragic either way ;_;

That's really interesting they'd be so determined for the kit, considering it's a lot less meat than the adults in the pit. In any case, it is an incredibly tragic situation DX
