I believe she was!It was stated on the SU wiki that both Jasper and Amethyst use the Spin Dash(Same name as Sonic´s one!)attack which was inspired by the game,so likely a yes!You could even see Sonic and Cloud(Final Fantasy) lookalike toys in Steven´s collection in the episode Steven the sword fighter if I´m not mistaken!
