Description
I got this idea the same time as I got my Supernatural chibis idea but decided to put it off until I'd done a few of the Supernatural ones first. I was going to put it off even longer but then ~rickytherockstar suggested I should do it and even uploaded his own series of Batrogues pictures. (But normal sized and coloured...not like this mass of laziness) So that got me all excited to do it.
There'll be a page of heroes to accompany this.
It was actually really hard trying to decide on who to include in this. Who should be worthy? Characters that have been around the longest? Characters that are most popular? Characters that are most important? I think I tried to get some middle ground between all those three things...which is why there's probably a few there that will make you go "Huh? Really?"
And then there was the question of their changing allegiances!
Anyways...this is sheer self-indulgence so forgive me.

Thanks. Prometheus probably would've ended up in there but the list of characters was getting out of control so I had to go with what I already had.

Wow. These are all Batman villains?
I had no idea.
I feel all ignorant and ashamed now.
Even more so because I think I'm teetering on the edge of dropping the two DC comics that I actually read. (Titans and Teen Titans)
Although Red Robin is pretty friggin sweet (I borrowed the first twelve issues from a friend) so I might pick that up.
I do so love G chibis...nothing else quite like 'em. And I mean that in the very best way you can interpret that. They're always adorable AND unique.

Well I did try and make a group of characters that would be hard to recognise completely. So there's no need to be ashamed.
And besides...I'm sure you could list off a list of Spiderman villians that would make me go "Huh? Who's that then?"
I've already dropped those two titles. I didn't want to but there was just no reason to keep getting them. The quality was getting so bad...and it seems to be getting worse. And considering each comic is about $5 that's a lot of money to spend on something I'm not enjoying.
Red Robin IS sweet! That totally caught me by surprise. I really wasn't expecting much. I thought it was just yet another spin-off to make money from...but it's been really really REALLY good. It's almost more Batman than the Batman comics are.
Thanks. They're easy to do to so they fit in quite nicely when I'm not motivated to draw 'proper' people.

There are an aweful lot of Spidey villains.
I dropped Titans...I really don't care about Deathstroke and his merry band of misfits. I'm still hanging on to Teen Titans...I'll give it a few more issues before I give up on it. But you're right...five bucks is a lot to drop on something that low quality.

holy **** on a ****ing sandwich with **** on top and a side order of **** they're all so small and clearly from the same set, but completely unique as well! damn, i really need to take a course in batman though... there are still quite a few i don't recognize
phah, harley and riddler will always be villains at heart and HELL YEAH doin' the designs your way! it's the best way to fanart
anyone can draw batman, but can they draw a G BATMAN?
did you know that the flash had a 5th-dimention pest too, once? NEITHER DID I. BECAUSE HE DIDN'T. IT NEEEEEEVER HAPPEEEEENED.
also--and this is purely an observation, not a critique--but have you noticed that they all lean to the left somewhat?

The-G In reply to Dakt37 [2010-07-10 07:08:32 +0000 UTC]
I did NOT just spend the last ten minutes filling in those *. I didn't. And if you make any such claims I will deny them completely.
Now where was I? Oh yes...it's okay if you don't recognise some.
I did kind of try to throw in some obscure ones to stump people...and maybe to show off a little.
It looks like Riddler is on his way back to being a bad boy! I don't know what's up with Harley though. Or Ivy. I mean...Ivy just got a job.
She wears clothes and everything.
I wish there was someone who could draw G Batman. Then I could just sit back and when they were finished I could just sign my name on it. Like Bob Kane did. You know...you completely fucked with my nerd receptors with that claim. I started off all WHATWHATWHAT?
And I was even about to go google it to see what I've missed...and then you punch me in the guts like that. There will be consequences. Maybe not today...maybe not tomorrow...but there will be.
Or not.
It should've been a critique because you are right. They DO lean to the left.
That's because they were drawn on a little pad while I was laying on my bed. That position made them seem straight but when I scanned them I learnt the horrible truth...and I couldn't be bothered fixing them.

it took you ten minutes to come up with the words? you need to brush up on your profanity, my friend. may i suggest reading backissues of a comic you love and then overpaying for newer comics where they shred the characters to death through shitty writing?
it... it must be a stunt. just like dead bats. and red robin. and damien. JUST A STUNT. THEY'LL ALL GO BACK TO NORMAL SOON
technically, in OUR history, flash did have an imp. but he was so fucking annoying that the fans and writers have mutually decided that it never happened it claimed that it caused the spill that gave barry his powers. NOT COOL, BRO.
ohhhh, i see. i do that sometimes too XD;

Ah but see...since that whole Infinite Crisis and 52 and Countdown bunch of shenanigans then I've gotten pretty accustomed to it all. I just kind of accept it and move on. "Oh Bruce is dead ay? Oh well. I wonder what took them so long to do that?" "Oh Lian is dead ay? Ah well...another one bites the dust." "Oh Hawkman and Hawkgirl are dead again. Well fancy that." etc. You kinda sound like there's something recent that's bothering you though.
Come on. Spill it. Which writer are you pissed off at?
I do tell myself that. I keep saying "It's just temporary! Things will get back to normal!" But really? I don't think it will. I mean, before Brightest Day started I was thinking "YEAH! It's gonna be classic D.C! Arthur will be back! All the main guys will be back! Everything will be in place and there will be much awesome because of it!
" But...no. For something called 'Brightest' Day it hasn't been very happy and good times.
Wow...that could be the first time fans and writers have agreed on something...EVER!
But since Rebirth...it was Zoom that caused the spill. Right?

ACH. the guy who's on teen titans right now (*looks at comic* felicia d henderson?). forget individual personality mangling; this book was just badly written. the dialogue is just a string of really bad snarky quips that sound like they came from a tweenager who's trying and failing to be an actual snarky teen >< also the page layouts were boring and undynamic, the storytelling was really choppy, and the story itself has been DONE TO DEATH AND BACK. oh, raven's in trouble and they have to go rescue her from demons? golly, that's never happened before! EXCEPT FOR THE SEVENTY TIMES IT DID. the whole issue was a mess. i want to take the issue of young avengers that i got on the same day, mail it to the TT writers, and go "THIS IS HOW YOU WRITE ABOUT TEEN SUPERHEROES"
god, i don't even know anymore i thought barry went back in time and caused it himself? or was that wally for HIS spill? oh who cares, he's THE MOTHERFUCKING FLASH

Ahhhhhhhhhhh...there's the rant I was hoping for.
It appears to me that the Titans books aren't really considered top priority anymore. They seemed to be going along just fine and then D.C got bored of them and pushed them to the back. Like when they started the Titans comic...about 10 issues in the group broke up.
I don't think they're even making them anymore. Their first story was about Raven and demons too.
And then in the Teen Titans they were building up to all this stuff with Static joining and all that...and then after that nothing.
I don't think they even care who works on it anymore. "You wanna write Teen Titans? Okay...it's yours. Just don't bother me with it."
Which is strange because you'd think that with a Young Justice cartoon coming that they'd wanna have a good title to sell to bring people in.
I did read some comic where Barry caused the spill himself...but I think that was before the first Crisis so who the hell knows anymore.
That is the greatest thing I've ever read ever. I'm crying it made me laugh so much. Who the hell wrote that? I want to worship them!

Dakt37 In reply to The-G [2010-07-18 07:09:05 +0000 UTC]
you know? i think that's EXACTLY it the people working on the book don't give a shit about the characters or where they're going, and it shows. it's just a "problem of the week" story with lines so bland they could be coming from ANY character. >:\ they sometimes pretend to try to briefly mention the personal issues characters might have, but they're not examined well enough for you to CARE.
maybe they're trying to make the characters as bland as possible so that people who write the cartoon won't have to worry about perverting the current comic-canon, and can re-write the chracters to suit their own needs. also so people who watch the cartoon won't have to worry about re-meeting the characters in the comics. it's the whole stupid mentality of needing to make comic characters more "accessible" to potential new readers by not weighing them down with stupid things like "past experiences" and "personal growth". because then you might have to actually get into BACKISSUES to fully appreciate the character and ICK who wants to do THAT?!
that flash rant is my BIBLE

The-G In reply to Dakt37 [2010-07-26 19:06:42 +0000 UTC]
It's probably just the wrong type of people to be writing it too. Middle aged people who don't really know how to write teenagers anymore. And because they don't know how to they just write them like they would any other superhero. It's a cut and paste job. Just take a story you'd use in a different title and sidekick it up a bit. Which sucks because I don't want to read Teen Titans to read a JLA clone. I want to read a TEEN TITANS STORY!!!
The reason I stopped reading it was because it had no soul anymore. And all the characters seemed to share the same personality too.
It's so stupid how they do that. It seems like comics are always bending to suit other people's needs instead of just getting on with it and if people want to join in...okay. I don't see why they've got to screw everything up for the long term people just to bring in a couple of new ones. They should just base their cartoons on the comics and not start trying to be clever by redesigning everything.
There's no actual reason why things need to be redesigned. Especially in animation. It's just people wanting to look awesome by coming up with something different. And how often does that work?

I love them! They all look really cool. Can't wait to see them all in colours.
PS: I think you did good on deciding which ones you should include. I mean; even though the likes of Harley, Riddler and Man-Bat have been mostly good lately, most people still remember them and see them as villains. I know I do. The only one I am missing is Catwoman, but I am guessing that you will include her as a hero? As long as you don't forget about her XD
Anyway... great job! I admire people who have the time and patients to do so many characters XD

The-G In reply to CyanSoul [2010-06-08 07:48:11 +0000 UTC]
Thanks a lot.
~rickytherockstar has been colouring them up. He's got about half uploaded. Yeah I planned to do Catwoman on the hero version.
Quite a few people seemed to think she was missing from this one so I'm beginning to think I probably should've done her here.
But yeah..that's kinda the problem I had. I look at the traditional villians as villians, even when they're not being naughty, so I want to draw them as villians...but I can't help but be influenced by current activities too so I went back and forth on a lot of them.

I didn't draw them like this. I drew them all on individual bits of paper and then compiled them all on one image.
I drew them larger than this too. About three times the size they are here.
I think it was a lot easier to go crazier with poses and details on this one because I know the characters so well. Not much research or thinking required. Some Batfans don't even know about Catman or Batzarro. I threw in B-List and C-List characters...just for some fun.

How do you DO this stuff? Seriously, I'm in awe. I mean, I know I did that Spectacular Spectrum Scout thingy, but that was 27 poses and no more. You've done three pages of those chibis!
Also, you'll be happy to know I recognize more than half of those guys now.

Yeah...but the first two pages I did didn't really have anything interesting going on. They were mostly just standing still poses.
I DID try to make some more interesting poses on this one so maybe I've fooled you into thinking that I put in a lot of work.
I was actually going to make a bingo game out of this. I was going to upload it without the names on it and then see who could guess the most before I uploaded the named version. But I got bored of that idea.

90% of projects that I do that require a lot of lengthy work, such as series, never get finished, so this is really awesome to me. I mean, I'm not even done with the SSScouts thingy I was doing!

But this is just chibis! I'm able to get through it all because it's made up of lots of little pieces that don't take long.
If I was doing them full sized then I'm not sure how I'd go finishing it. I'd probably abandon half the list because it felt like too much...and even then I don't know if I'd get around to finishing it.
