Description

Moments after Alex agrees to show The Explorers the Herd, the jungle prince realizes he needs to come up with an idea to keep Zoma away from the den for as long as possible, when finally, it occurrs to him. In order to keep his father away from their home, Alex asks Yaotl and Zunari to distract him for as long as possible. While Zunari is willingly to accept this great task, Yaotl finds himself on edge.

Alex: Yaotl, all you have to do is keep my dad away from the grounds.

Yaotl: What?! Are you nuts?! He’ll tear us all new ones when he finds out!

Zunari: Well, I'll be happy to—

Yaotl suddenly yanks on Zunari’s whiskers, cutting him off.

Yaotl: Zip it, Zunari, and move along! Can you believe that guy? Drops us like a newborn giraffe, KER-PLOP!, and waltzes in here and expects us to just—

Alex: *Smiling pleadingly at Yaotl* Yaotl, I'm asking you as a friend.

Yaotl: *stopping dead at the sight of the pleading look in Alex’s eyes* Oh, doh! with the face and the eyes and the—"

Yaotl struggles to look away from Alex’s purple eyes. Ever since they were little, he would always find ways to get Yaotl to go along with whatever he planned, just by looking at him with his eyes, and it annoyed him to no end. There was something about Alex’s eyes that was so entrancing. Perhaps it made him look innocent. Maybe it allowed Alex to seem younger than he was. Either way, it was enough to get the stubborn Jaguar to do what Alex would ask for.

Yaotl: *sighing* All right! But don't you dare make me do anything embarrassing.
