And finally, it is the end! Of chapter one. I'm considering doing a few choice scenes from later in the book, but I'm probably not going to continue as it is now. I want to try my own comic next.For anyone interested, I also have a fanfic for Rumble Fish that you can read here: [link]

I always felt bad for Soda. Pony and Darry have the most prominent issues, but he's got a lot to deal with, too. Thanks for all your comments! I stole the idea for Sandy's outfit from some old wedding photos. ^_^

Pony was my favorite on first read, but a few years later I switched to Johnny.

At first mine was two bit but now I like Johnny since he's so shy and Steve because he seems like a angry guy that needs.someone there for him

I always liked Two-Bit, but he doesn't have the same impact of some of the other guys since he isn't as involved with the plot. And that makes sense, about Steve; that's kinda how I feel about Dally.

True true. After all Dally had to raise himself. And two bit was more of the comical character. Johnny was the one that felt a little more than pony dontcha think?

Yeah, Two-Bit is the much-needed comic relief. And yep, Johnny's less protected than Pony, but he's got some of the same dreamer-ish quality, so he ends up being the more complex character.

So basically two bit is there to make things less tense. But who would play the protagonist? Johnny or ponyboy?

I'd say Pony's the main protagonist. Johnny is one too, but since the story extends beyond his death and is told by Ponyboy, it focuses more the effect Johnny has on Ponyboy, not the changes Johnny goes through himself. If Johnny didn't die, he would probably be the main character, since his actions start the main plot.
