Glorious Gary, The Fell Tamer

There was a time when he'd been mockingly referred to as "Gloomy Gary".

The ill-fated product of a family who attempted to bring back the power of the dark lords--only to bear a child with weakness beyond measure. He was hardly even considered a son by them--to them he was little better than a walking afterbirth. When even time wouldn't grant him power, he was cast aside as such. Imagine if you will, an emotionally frail, physically feeble joke of a dark being--while being cursed with a cruel and terrible lineage, causing him to become shunned by many--demons and mortals alike.

But then he wasn't. When he had finally found others who were ready and willing to pick him up from the ground he had been cast onto.
Marina Leveau. His very first one. The one who helped make him feel less lonely, and provided the gateway to a renewed, sacred darkness, far unlike the noxious corruption that "darkness" used to be.
Lord Styx. The benevolent Dark Lord who understood the meek and downtrodden--as he had once been. For he had given Gary a place in his burgeoning Kingdom under the Shadow Kingdom's eclipsed skies.

And perhaps most of all...Helion. A man who taught Gary the joy of excellence of self.

Gary's malnutrition was combated with a balanced, protein-rich diet every day, and plenty of yogurt nights.
He could hardly hear the demonizing voices in his head, as Helion shouted slogans and inspiration over them.
He hardly had tears to cry anymore--he instead shed water as sweat, with intensive workouts 5 days a week.
The ground was no longer a place to weep. But a surface for pushups, crunches, and floor presses. (and sometimes yoga)
He didn't have strong black magic--he didn't need it. He instead trained in melee combat until he earned a black BELT.

The hardest part was starting, and realizing that he was going to be doing this every day.

But it got easier. And he got strong.

Among his newest talents have been in the realm of taming Fell Wyverns. A very old species of Wyvern, long ago "corrupted" into their form by dark magic, and thus used, and abused, by Dark Lords long ago. Even after the Age of Dark Lords, their kind was still slaughtered in wholesale by those who saw them as unholy creatures. They are an endangered species.

Albeit one who may just be brought out of their ruined caves by Gary, now a burgeoning master in taming dragonkin. A skill he had learned and practiced at Scholomancia, with the Balauri and Zmeu that dwelt there. Some day he may take his expertise even further, and maybe even open up a hatchery for the Fell Wyverns. Maybe even teach his trade to other aspiring riders! Some day.

For now though? He's STILL getting ridiculously jacked for his age.

...someone should probably tell him he can stop blasting his abs already. XD
