as far as detail of the girl is concerned, i totally agree that this girl is much better looking, but this pose just isn't as fun in my opinion. either way, its still great stuff. the lighting does look strange. and after a closer inspection, you have seem to have one light source and i'm not all too sure where its coming from, but i take it you already knew this, in any case its still very cool and i sincerely hope you continue this high level of artistry.
