Hmmm.... So you're trying to pick between her being either blind or an amputee? Β I like both ideas, but I know you just want to choose one. Β I like the idea of her losing her leg in an accident. Β It would lead to an intriguing backstory for this character. Β But that's just me. Β

And no, I have a couple in the works, but I always want to find meaningful names, or names I feel fit into the world.

I actually adore the design of this OC in the left lower corner.
The way she looks, probably pondering why she's putting up with Edith's jokes, I love it!
You're right though, both handicaps would serve way too many reasons to draw her in various (hilarious) scenes.
Though I'm still a sucker for the amputee - I just get fascinated by how they helped people with an amputee back in those days.

Amputee WOULD be awesome, mainly because she'd still be quite efficient as Lyburns private secretary, and able to handle all his paper-work... My original plan was for her to be blind, but still able to write perfect English, thanks to amazing penmanship... She wouldn't be able to read the documents of course, which is an issue I still haven't figured out.
As an amputee she'd be capable of working for Lyburn still, but there's also something incredibly charming about her being blind, mainly because she'd be able to freak out people, and I can see her loving making people uncomfortable, and be quite the cynic...
Anyhoo, whether a blind character or an amputee, she'd definitely be cynical towards most people, without any hope in a prosperous future with a family - she's put that dream of hers aside, and focuses only on work...Β

If she were blind, then she can hang out with Barretta and Goldie and Eddie can make jokes together. Β And there's always waving her leg and chucking at people...so give her both!! Β My logic is flawless!!
