Description Well... this pretty much sums up my entire first week in England. Each one of these little tidbits has a story.

1) Apparently, the floors of English bath tubs are raised from the ground of the bathrooms. I forgot this while stepping out of the shower for the first time, and nearly cracked my head on the toilet. I'm fine though.

2) Yes. My homestay house door does not have a knob. I hate that damn door. It's done everything but pulled a rabbit out of its ass. I wouldn't be surprised if it had one, either.

3) This is actually pretty funny. I guess as a way to impress me that he had something American, my homestay dad brought out an American cook book. I guess it was a low-income cook book because the first thing he asked me about was what Cheese Whiz was. I started laughing my ass off. The little girl in between us is Bella :3 She's cute, but she comes in and accidentally spits on my tablet when she watches me draw >> bit of an attitude too. but not like American kids.

4) So... they have a cat. Nice thing, fluffy and friendly. But she and I were playing one night, and when I tried to draw back, she sunk her claws into my hand. And since my homestay family has kids, I had to settle for bright, neon colored bandaids. Greg (the French student who's sharing the house at the moment) said that I was the most fashionable woman he's ever known because of all the colors.

5) England is fucking EXPENSIVE. Even the cheep stuff is expensive here D8 Here's a little tip for when you want to go out for afternoon tea and scones (which, btw, I am addicted to now). CHECK THE PRICES FIRST. The pound is practically double the price of the dollar, which means everything is times two over here. Thankfully, I don't have to tip, which is nice.

6) And finally... Last night, Greg and I decided to... *ahem* watch a movie, shall we say? Which indeed, we did, but half way through it... we... well... perhaps the less I say the better.

I will withhold all further comments about this until the next time we meet. Or until you're on Skype again. Depends if you ever have time to sign in while you're over there.

Yes. Everything in England is gob-smackingly expensive. =__= Then again, you are in Oxford, so... yeah. I think London's much more expensive.

Those aren't the colours for England those the colours of the United Kingdom! (false outrage)
There is away of getting round the high price of food, just buy it at the co op or tesco, you'll have to give up most of your self respect doing it but it's cheaper.
And what is a Cheese Whiz?

Tprinces In reply to Party9999999 [2011-03-09 21:56:34 +0000 UTC]

it's the Union Jack.

Cheese Whiz is compacted cheese that comes in a can.

Well it's only the Union Jack during war, the rest of the time it's the Union Flag.

compacted cheese in a can... sounds as healthy as jumping off a bridge.
