Description In case anyone thought it was hard to do something like this or just wanted to know how it's done. Do note that this is only one way to do this, not the only way nor necessarily the best way.

Note that I've shown you the steps on how to make a specific model for your own PRIVATE COLLECTION. I will emphasize that per the request/rules of the original modeler, Kakomiki, the model of "Alice the Gate Opener" or its edits may not be redistributed. Furthermore, this model of Alice may only be used by persons aged 18 years or older due to the rating on the model: R-18.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT ASK FOR MODEL LINKS

Which is probably why you have this problem in the first place. This is a known issue with your version of editor.

Well I wouldn't have to use and upgrade if my old ones hadn't crashed and burned on me. I even re-dl'd them and they won't register models in the thing at all.

I have a 32 bit machine so I'm stuck using PMD 0.1.3.9, but it works fine. I have a 64 bit machine but that's reserved strictly for work.

I used to have a normal laptop and then it got all fixed up to where it runs x64 stuff instead of x86. But I'm just having issues all over the place with this model thing and adding groove bones and it STILL messes with my model... ugh...

I just use an old laptop. The thing is actually pretty beat up and the battery no longer works, but it's still giving me fantastic results inspite of it being like going on 7 years now. Won't do some MME and I can't run a 100 models in MMD with it, but for most purposes it's fine. All my videos, models and MMD work are done using it. Pity it won't play some of the more contemporary graphic intensive games though.

I can't make a vid with more than 18 in it. And I can't get the water effect to work at all. Not before the hard drive died, not after, and not on my grandmother's laptop either. Curse my bad luck.

I can't do the water effect nor auto luminous. Those are the 2 effects I really want.

Kamsa habnida! Neo neun sensei ibnida ^^

Anyways, why you chose EXACTLY this model? Especially if it is R-18 and you want to make a kid model. Anyways, if you think that reality is a mere perception, why you still think that wearing stockings at all for kids is bad? Ever heard of Pippi the Long Stocking? She was my childhood imaginary friend. And she was actually wearing very long stockings. And she was almost around 10.

Trackdancer In reply to scn71402 [2013-09-14 11:31:02 +0000 UTC]

What's wrong with this model being used as a kid model? Sorry, but I don't sexualize pixels. If it's an issue for you don't make this conversion. It's that simple.

scn71402 In reply to Trackdancer [2013-09-14 21:13:54 +0000 UTC]

Nothing wrong!!! In fact, as a kid, it'll be so nyashy!!! Then I don't even have any ideas why Kakomiki-P made it R-18.

However, I'd rather make another chibi instead of using this one.

Trackdancer In reply to scn71402 [2013-09-15 00:12:34 +0000 UTC]

Alice is R-18 because she's from the same franchise/universe as the Queen's Gate adult fighting game and the spin off anime series from the same company. She's definitely in the loli-con hentai bracket, but the model and design in itself is what makes this character attractive rather than merely her background.

Like it says, you can use the same techniques/principles shown in this tutorial to make any other (child-like) chibi. You don't have to make Alice if she isn't to your preference.

Do you have a tutorial to make a model little properly?
like a doll :3
I tryed using edit - plugins - system - size - .1 (that's the size that I need)
The size of the model and physics its correct, but when I open it on MMD, the physics of the skirt and the hair FAILS terribly... can you make a tutorial about it, please?

and thx, with this tutorial I coul make a chibi finally! x3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to NadeshikoLove1 [2013-06-01 16:15:14 +0000 UTC]

Physics can be problematic if the model is too small as the tolerances might be extremely fine. It might be necessary to rework them or remove them entirely.

BTW ...

There already is a doll size MMD model available, and she's in a classic Victorian doll style: Hina Ichigo from the series Rozen Maiden. She has fully functioning physics and is the size of a large doll. There should be a link for her on Citrus-Smoothie or Mikudance.info.

There's also a very small version of Princess Lapis. Probably the smallest MMD figure model ever made and she also has functional physics. She comes packaged with the full size model and you should be able to find a link to that model as it is very popular.

Incidently ...
When I first read this: Do you have a tutorial to make a model little properly? ... I didn't know whether I should have been ROFL or insulted ... ... just saying ...

Trackdancer In reply to rosegurl1128 [2013-04-11 03:48:06 +0000 UTC]

Models appear white in MMD whenever the program cannot load the associated texture files for a model. There are several different types of causes for this.

1/. There's a problem with the texture filename. Typically this happens when your PC is not set to read Japanese text and the texture filename uses Japanese characters. To fix, either set your PC to be able to read Japanese or rename the files into English and change the associated references in PMD.
2/. The texture filename is too long and the association failed to save properly when saved in the PMD editor. Rename the files and correct the references in PMD.
3/. MMD cannot find the texture file - this can happen if the textures are in a subfolder or you saved your edit to the wrong folder. This should be an easy fix if you're familiar with referencing files in Windows; but the quick fix is to make sure all files are in the same folder.

These are the most common causes for what you seem to be experiencing.

Goombackson In reply to ??? [2013-03-22 23:24:42 +0000 UTC]

Okay, I have a question. Just how exactly do you export a PMD model from the editor? I can't seem to find that option.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to Goombackson [2013-03-23 00:30:53 +0000 UTC]

Under the file menu there are two related SAVE commands. Use these to export.

SAVE AS ... do this the first time
SAVE ... do this there after (to update a file that you previously "saved as")

Just enter a [filename.pmd] and enter the command and the program does the rest.

These are applicable to the English language version of PMD. For the Japanese language version the command is similar, but there are additional toggles that allow you to switch to PMX mode so you need to watch what you're doing. Converting from PMD to PMX is fine, the other way round can lead to some nasty surprises.

<33 I also thank you for putting the motion data adjustments, I have such a hard time trying to figure those out when I try to make chibi models dance.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to EpiclyAwesomePrussia [2013-03-22 00:37:02 +0000 UTC]

Adjustments are easy. Figure out the size difference between the model the motion was developed on and the target model. Even full size models can sometimes benefit from minor tweaks to the ratios (especially if the motion includes the model holding a mic).

For most chibis (like the chibi Mikus in my gallery) use 0.75. For petite chibis like Chibi IA or Chibi Gumi use 0.55. Tda Append Miku chibi I tend to use 0.60. The differences may seem to be minor but if you're picky (like me) it does make a difference.

I have Alice already (but I may need to update her, but I already know where to get her, so that's no big deal), but might I ask where you got the resizing plugin? (as well as some of the other plugins)

I've never added any plug-ins to my copy of PMD ... hard enough to figure out the existing ocntrols w/o adding more to the mess ^^

QVxVCTxZero In reply to Trackdancer [2013-03-22 00:25:25 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I only added one to PMX (semistandardbones)

Trackdancer In reply to QVxVCTxZero [2013-03-22 00:32:00 +0000 UTC]

Someone directed me to that one, but I've not really used it much as some of those conversions can be problematic. Just as easy to do most manually.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

QVxVCTxZero In reply to Trackdancer [2013-03-22 01:51:13 +0000 UTC]

*nod* it's mainly used for adding a second upper body bone to models for me, though. (it's HORRENDOUSLY faulty on models like Miku, Neru, and Rin, though)
