Description There are several MME fog effects out there, almost all use some form of controller. Some are simpler, others more complex to apply. The trade off being 'simplicity of use' vs 'rendering fidelity'. hkFOG is kind of in-between and it strikes a fair balance between the two approaches.

This tutorial also serves to outline the need to use a balance of effects to achieve desired results. Personally, I feel that MMD with the correct MMEs does do a pretty good job of rendering authentic 3D world scenes, even when using rather basic models like the urban and car models used here.

Cheers.

In what way translating the controller into English breaks it? I mean, if I *replace* morph names in JP fields, then it will of course not work. But I just filled EN fields (previously empty) with translated names keeping JP names intact and so far it works OK for me, displaying proper names in English UI mode as supposed to. Are there some underwater rocks I haven't noticed yet?

I used the PMD translation wizard to do the translations (which was a retarded idea anyway) and it did break the controller model. Doing it manually probably will not/should not have an adverse effect.

Thanks! Do you happen to know which of the smoke effects can create a ground fog, like a fog machine, off the top of your head? I have a bunch and I'll be trying them all out later on (it is a bunch though XD).

None of the smoke effects work on my lame laptop, so I can't really help with this.

Hm...Do you know much about the RxLightWater effect? For me, it takes a really long time to load and, when it does, it shows up as this sort of grainy looking texture, more like static than anything. It seems to have the same basic controls as hKfog (animation speed slider, density slider, color sliders, etc) and hKfog works well enough on my computer.

I can't tell if it's an issue with my computer or my copy of the effect (maybe the download got corrupted somewhere along the line, who knows) or if it's just some sort of texture error (like what happened to the first skydome you used in this tutorial), and I'm curious as to if it worked for you or not

None of the MMD water effects work on my PC so I'm afraid I can't be of much help here.

Annoying when stuff like that happens isn't it? That's probably happened to all of us at one time or another unfortunately. On the plus side, the next time ... ^^

It's a nice effect and easy to use. Bit flaky sometimes but that might just be MMD 9.26.
