Description
Drew this after watching "Inception", the mind-blowing epic by Christopher Nolan. The commercials, the reviews, nothing quite does it justice. Go see it for yourself. If you already saw it, you know the power of this piece. This is my reality, my idea of the end. It's not my place to entirely decide the truth, but this is how I would prefer things to work out.
Again, unless you see the movie, you have no idea.
I believe the totem fell.

I've heard a few things:
WARNING, SPOILERS!
1. The top wasn't Cobb's totem, it was his wife's. The kids were Cobb's totem. That's why, in every dream, he couldn't see their faces, but at the end, he did.
2. Of course, that depends on how long he was out of America. If he was gone for years, the kids would have been a lot older, and not looked as he remembered them. So, at the end, he was still in Limbo.
But, if he was only gone for a little while, then the kids would look the same.
3. It doesn't matter. He spun the top, but didn't stay to see if it fell. He doesn't care anymore. If he's in Limbo, he doesn't want to know. Wherever Cobbs is, that place is now his reality.
4. He did wake, because Ariadne (the architect girl) says he will.
5. The director himself doesn't know.
Me? I'm happy not knowing, and just drooling over di Caprio.
5.

It did bobble before they cut away to black.
I believe that it fell, too.
Honestly, it's probably up to the viewer and not Nolan.

Yes, it did fall. If it didn't, the message is to throw away faith in everything. I refuse to believe it.

It wasnt his totem to begin with thus never was a gauge of reality...Just saying, if you watch the movie and ask "why that?" a lot...it get really trippy with the many complex possibilities.

A recurring theme in the movie is taking a leap of faith.
At the end we think that Cobb is finally getting a well deserved happy ending, until the camera pans back to the totem and a seed of doubt it planted in our mind.
Even though we wait to see it fall, to assure us that this is reality, the movie ends.
So we're left unsure. But I think that we're supposed to take a leap of faith.
So I believe the totem fell.

Aww, this makes me sad! I really, really hope it fell at the end, but I just don't think it did. (Plus, during the credits when the music stops to transition, you can still hear it spinning. D
But I guess the important thing is that Cobb walked away from it - that he didn't care whether it fell or not at the end.
Absolutely lovely piece of artwork - simple, yet extremely powerful. A definite favorite!

You know.. I kinda like how we don't really know what happened in the end. Because, it leaves the whole scenario up to the individual to decide. It becomes personal, sort of like a dream, if you will.

That movie was incredible. And partially confusing. A truck fell a distance of ten feet in an hour!
The ending seems like it was made to decide your outlook on life. If it fell, your an optimist, if not, your a pessimist. Or cruel.
Surpringly for me, I thought it fell. Normally I'm a pessimist, but eh, what can I do?

Correct, or at least that's what I believe. It certainly seems that way to me, but I'm a cynic, what can I do. I also read a story with an ending like that, so I am familiar with that sort of ending.

lol me and my friend had mixed views on this.
I thought it fell since, well it's a good ending to the thing.
She thought that it didn't fall just to add to the complexity of the whole reality VS dream thingy.
I really think it fell though.
Such cliffhangers Christopher Nolan.

I think that he was in reality as well- We didn't see Mall (sp?) at the end, so I think he was awake.
But in my theatre, it cut away from the totem, and the entire audience went "Awwwww." (dissapointed aww)

I don't know, I'm one of those people who prefers the bad over the good, I think teh main character was happy either way. I mean he still sees his kids and that's what he wanted the whole movie. I think I'm going to watch it again so I can understand some of the stuff better
