Description
As the title suggests, this pic is a request from Deviant member , of his original character, Clownface. He wanted to see what she would look like drawn in the Danny Phantom style, so he came to me. Frankly, I was very flattered that he asked, seeing as how my art hasn't been here that long.Anyway, this is pretty much what I came up with and I'm quite pleased with the results. I'd like to give a big shout out to Jazz Fenton, Ember McLain, Penelope Spectra and Sam Manson for providing me with the artistic reference points I needed (anatomic and otherwise). So...here she is. QT, I hope you like what you see. And everyone else, too.

Glad to hear it. Yeah, these request pics don't get as much face time as some of my other works, mostly because I don't post them in any of the Groups that I'm a part of. So people have to come here to my Gallery to actually see them. I'm very happy to hear that it was worth the trip for you.

Glad you like it (came all the way back to comment again, did you?^_^). Yeah, like I say, I basically used Jazz's face, Ember's torso and Spectra's legs as reference points for her design (along with Sam references for things like the boots, hands, etc.). I actually thought about giving her Spectra's eyes, which would have been more in keeping with the original image you turned me onto. But I thought it might have made her look a little too mature, you know?

Well, we'll see what happens. If I get right to work on this next pic and get it out of the way, I might be able to squeeze in your request pic this week as well. They're both relatively simple to draw on paper. It's the scanning, hard lines and color which is where the real work is. Plus, on my next pic, there's going to be some kind of background I want thrown in. But we'll see.

Okay, well, my KP pic is done (and posted, as you've probably already noticed), so work on yours will be starting tomorrow. I've got a pretty good idea what direction I want to go with it as well as how I want it designed. I also have a theory on how to add color to my pic while keeping the lines cleaner, but I'm not going to know if that's going to work until I get in there, so your pic is going to be kind of an experiment of sorts. Of course, if it doesn't work, I can always color it in the way I was doing it before, no big deal.

Okay, work on your pic begins today. If all goes according to plan, I should at least have the pencil work done. I was thinking about seeing if I could get the whole picture done today, but I've already spend enough time today touching up my latest KP pic so I could replace the original image I submitted (if you've already looked at the pic, I suggest you see it again - it's noticeably better now, I think). Anyway, I'll keep you posted.

That's the plan. Like I say, my next pic is going to be a little more complicated to pull off. THe actual drawing istel is going to be simple enough, but the image as a whole is going to require some magazine-style layout and since I've never done anything like that in what I've done previously, there's going to be a little bit of guess-and-test involved. But if I can get it to look the way I want it to, it should be something REALLY good.

Well, I'm definitely planning more Danny Phantom stories after the two I've got lined up. I'm obviously not going to just end my writing right there. Obviously, Freakshow is an option, although I have to admit, I never really thought about anything to do with him just yet.
But now that I think about it, you may have given me the answer to a question I've been looking for. I have this plot development coming up later in the series and I wasn't sure which villain I wanted to use to have it come about. But Freakshow would definitely be a front-runner choice. Now I just have to come up with a plot for this idea. But thanks, that was a definite help.

Well, this story is still quite a ways off, so I've got plenty of time to come up with a plot for Freakshow to get involved in. But it is definitely something I can work into my own idea as the villain of the piece, so thank you for that.

You mean the Ghost Writer? Well, it is true that I would like to write a Christmas episode where Sam at least tries to show Danny a happy holiday. But I couldn't bring myself to see the Ghost writer in that one (or any other story, for that matter) where the whole thing is done in rhyme. As ambitious as a project like that sounds, I just wouldn't have the strength for that.

Well, I don't know if scandal writing is really the Ghost Writer's forte. I'll have to think about that.
Sorry this message is a little late getting back to you. I've been a little busy the last couple of days, working on my latest KP pic (which is now complete and posted, as I'm sure you've noticed). Tomorrow, I'll be starting work on my next submission, which, if all goes as planned, should be done and posted sometime Saturday morning or afternoon. Just keeping you posted.

Well, hopefully, your interenet is working well enough that you can check out my latest pic. I don't know, I kind of feel like I missed the mark on this one somewhere but I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe when I do, I'll be able to touch it up and make it better.

Well, actually, when I was originally planning to make the pic a magazine cover, I was originally planning on making it based on the magazine "Humans & Their Friends", the same publication that featured an unknowing Kim as their cover story in part one of "Graduation". But like I say, my introductory spiel was too long-winded for a mag cover approach, so I went with opening photo spread in stead.

I became a member of this site mainly to comment on your pictures. Very nice job. Hope that guy who made this requested will be thrilled. You certainly seem to have the Hartman drawing style down, including what has been dubbed the *ahem* "Hartman Hips". Perhaps you should consider doing DP style title pics for your stories.

Well, once again, I'm very flattered that my work has drawn the kind of attention that it actually encouraged someone to sign up. That means a lot, thank you.
Well, as for the so-called "Hartman hips", the truth is, I was never all that good at emulating other people's styles before, but I figured that if I was going to do things like this, I was going to do it RIGHT. Chalk it up to the power of determination, I guess. Anyway, as for Clownface herself, I planned her out quite specifically. Going with the original picture QTcomics turned me onto, it was clear that I didn't want to make her super voluptuous, like Desiree or Maddie. Not that there's ANYTHING wrong with Desiree or Maddie (there's DEFINITELY not), but Clownface clearly just doesn't have that particular body type. So I went and settled on some of the slimmer characters in the series.
In the end, what I gave her was Jazz's face, Ember's torso and Penelope Spectra's legs, along with Sam's design on things like boots and hands. I actually thought about giving her Spectra's eyes, which would have been more in keeping with the original image. But I thought that might make her look too mature.
As for drawing Danny Phantom style title images for my fanfics, actually, I've thought about that and I'll most likely do it at some point. I just don't have a lot of concrete images finalized in my head yet. But I've got lots of pics lined up between now and then, so you'll have no shortage of things to look forward to.
