Don't get me wrong, I don't hate DeviantArt. If that was the case, I would be long gone. I enjoy art which is uploaded on DeviantArt every day and it's a friendly community. Yeah no shit, especially the report system has gotten so bad. I remember wanting to report someone stealing someone else's art in their gallery, and it was something like "Only the original artist can report getting their art stolen when they see it lol sorry" or some bullshit.
Or entire galleries with mature art but without mature filter on. Simply as a way of marketing by breaking rules (so guests get to see and browse and log in and watch, etc).
Forcing Eclipse on us gets all the attention instead.
Man, I report something on FurAffinity, it gets solved either in the same week or one month max. Shit, I upload mature art and forget to put the mature filter on (like nudity), it gets fixed in a short time too.
Furries to a better job than DeviantArt admins.

Well, the old DeviantArt had this system which often worked: when you reported stolen art, you had to provide the link where the original art was uploaded. So then all the staff had to do was check the date of submission and see which one was there first, and other things like account history while they were at it.
I remember reporting art thieves on the old DeviantArt, some which had galleries full with stolen art (by different artists even) claiming it to be their own- some accounts which even got deactivated for stealing art afterwards. Also, when I first joined DeviantArt (over 10 years ago), not being aware I wasn't allowed to upload anything that wasn't mine to my gallery, I uploaded a screenshot/GIF from Treasure Planet because I loved that movie and wanted to share, but it got removed; not because a Disney worker from that movie team reported it, but because back then you could be a normal person reporting stolen art with a proof source, and something was done about it quickly.
Sometimes the stolen art is obviously stolen too, with the original artist's name and watermark on the artwork itself- yet the thieves are now allowed to keep the art with this new DeviantArt system, especially when the original artist is popular and gets burried with so many messages a day, they rarely even get notified in time, nor browse enough to find it by accident because they're too busy making art, to report it themselves eventually.
THAT's how art thieves and trolls use the new system now, actually! :0
Just take an artwork from a super popular artist, claim it as your own, sell prints, make money, don't worry about a thing since chances are so low the original artist will notice it/be notified about it, nor do something about it in time. Because now the supporters of the original artist are not even allowed to report stolen art with this new DeviantArt system, even if they have SOLID PROOF the art was stolen.

"Policy violations"
I run across porn/spam accounts all the time. (Ususally because of the influx of bots that fave and watch)
I report them as I run across them, and they're deactivated within a couple days. (or less)
The same goes for blatant porn deviations that have been uploaded to the site.
That being said, I do run across some that have been here for years, but they get taken down when I report them.

but when you report a user that is evading their ban and link them even proof where the user talks about how they evade the ban, admins literally ignore it. I reported one idiot like a month ago and i still didnt even get a reply to the ticket lol

I haven't run across any "return abusers", so I haven't had to report anything a second time.
I have heard that some people who do too much reporting of things have gotten banned themselves,
though I couldn't tell you why. That makes no sense to me whatsever!

That all does make a lot of sense. I've got nothing against "artistic nudes" or things like that.
I can't see dA deleting all of the NSFW content,
but at the moment dA seems like a snapshot image dump for anything anybody feels like uploading.

I'm not that lucky. It's always 50/50. When I report an illustration that violates rule #60 it get's a pass. FAQ #60: Do you allow "Adult," explicit sexual or pornographic content on DeviantArt? How about linking off site? Not to mention that you have people who will upload a deleted deviation and when you report it, it get's the pass.

I'm having difficulty discerning just who Eclipse is aimed at. Hobbyists hate it and professionals hate it. The reaction has been almost universally negative. Any responsible and responsive company would have addressed the community's singular lack of enthusiasm for the roll-out a long time ago. DA has not only NOT addressed this issue, they've chosen to ignore it, and ignore us, the community. No dialogue has been initiated by DA to address our concerns. Why? They simply don't care what we think. They don't care. They drone on about how DA is all about "The Community." These are empty words, corporate weasel words designed to charm and placate. Don't fall for them.

+ Not to forget people getting banned for actually reporting serious violations of TOS (and law) like child porn. Even if no one ever warned them that using the available report tools can lead to the permanent ban of their account.

One huge roadblock when it comes to reporting child porn is that the person reporting has to provide proof of age. So unless you actually know who the child is and know their age and their birthdate, you can't report it. This creates a huge loophole that some people exploit by claiming that minor characters are actually adults.

I know, the person who told me about this case also explained this. And that's quite retarded, sounds like absurd bureaucratic bullshit. I understand they have to make sure no one will abuse the report system, but I bet there are better ways than this. Besides.... the report system is being abused anyway, in other ways.

I seriously agree. Most of us are hobbyists like me who do art for fun and just like to show off art. But DeviantArt Eclipse is a ripoff of ArtStation trying to appeal to professionals when they should be focusing on issues that concern users like art theft, cyberbullying, hackers, scammers, pedophiles, trolls, Core membership, and spammers.
