This is a Spike picture I made for every little thing he done so far in all episode in season 7. This season really show him as the true assistant. To assist not only for Twilight. But for Trixie and Starlight as well. All episode really show how much mature he is and how less being kid everyone believe he is.
And somehow...It seem like he being only sense person in episode. =w="

from season 1 in my headcanon he was 8 years old and to season 7 he is 11 or 12 but is just my opinion

I put him at 3-5 years younger than Twilight. Season 1 I've thought of her as about 14-16 and now I'd say it's been about 4-7 years since then.

Not to be that guy, but apparently Seasons 1-3 were all within one year, since in the S4 premiere, they mention it being the first Summer Sun Celebration since Luna's return.
And personally, (not that you asked me) I think Twi was about 19ish at the start of S1 and Spike's about 8 years younger than her, since I see them all being about 8-10 during the events of the first Sonic Rainboom.

Maybe the summer sun celebration is only every 3 years or something.
Also I remember a long while ago Faust said she put the mane6 in their mid-teens or so.

It could be, -we don't know how their time keeping compares to ours- but that seems a little unlikely. The SSC is both the equivalent of the Summer Solstice and a celebration of NMM's defeat, so it's probably an annual event. (Again, granted their calendar matches ours. What they call a year might be longer or shorter than our year.)
That's true, and at the point she said that she was quite literally 'running the show' so it could be taken as canon. Thing is, people are going to believe what they're gonna believe and that statement can be interpreted a couple of ways.
Like myself for example. I have the headcanon that all three races of Pony regularly live into the 100s and have a longer/slower development rate than humans, where their 20s are comparable to our 30s, 30s to 20s, so on and so forth. In that respect even if all the girls are around 20y.o. they could still be considered mid-teens.
But all that said, you have your headcanon; I have mine and I'll respect that. I just like sharing my thoughts on the show with those who are interested in listening to me.

when spike is a support character, the "assistent" spike is on his best. in his own episodes 7/10 times he causes his own problems

And it mostly his dragon's greed instict that cause the problem. But that is what showing how much effort he did. To try to control himself again his bad nature...He need much more strong mind than normal pony to control himself. So mature...
