Sometimes at work I take a break and draw on post-it notes. Here was an idle doodle of some Space Marines. Maybe a 10-15 minute sketch...I think....not sure. Anyways, I sketched it out and stuck it up on my desk and forgot about it.Later, I played a big Apocalypse game where an old game club member returned to play 40k with us again. His team won the game and so, as a tribute I figure I'd scan in this old piece of art and color it up in photoshop.
The color scheme of the armor, weapons, and chapter symbol are all from his homebrew Chapter. I used pics we took of the game as color reference.

Yeah, your totally right. Now that I think about it, I should just draw his Marines from now on. I mean, c'mon...no need to draw any other 40k faction anymore. Nothing will ever be as cool as these marines.

Hmm...its funny how everyone is like, "post-it note?!?!" I gotta feeling people are thinking I'm drawing it on one of those tiny post-its. I should've maybe cleared things up by saying it was sketched on a 3"x5" post-it.
Maybe sometime I'll put all the post-it scraps on one page and scan it in.

Yeah, it was drawn on a post-it note first. It sat stuck to my desk for a few months. Then I decided to scan it in and color it in my friend's Chapter color scheme.

Not really, I took only like 6 pics before the battery on my camera ran out. Of the six pics, they're not that cool looking or anything. Just used them as reference.
