going into it gave me the shivers. I usually don't feel that way, but this house has a strange presence about it. Luckily I was there with my nephew....he is pretty fearless.

If you have checked out my last three journals (excluding the present one)...I outlined the processing method I use. This is one of the effects that is possible. High detail in shadows and highlights, great clarity and sharpness.

I used curves alone for contrast and colour balance. The rest was all burning and dodging

I never ment to say that you actually pasted a CG house on a photo, it was a way of saying how unreal it looks (as if a sim would be about to come out the door). Meaning it looks good.

No, I understood that. Its just that the processing method I have been using creates that kind of affect. That all I was trying to say. To some people it looks like an HDR, but its not that either.

Any way, I think I got your point, and I thank you for your interest and observations. When people tell me what they thing, as you have, it helps to confirm what I am doing, and sometimes it help me to tweek the process a bit. So thanks for that also.

I am not sure there is any way to Know that Darrel. It seems to have happened many years ago. Anything of "real" value has been taken, the rest trashed.

lighting mostly,

the clouds, darkened foreground. All the detail was in the CR2, I just manipulated the way it comes out.

thanks. It was a pretty spooky place too, it was like the people who had lived there just walked out one day. The house was full of stuff, all messsed up from other people who have trashed it, but just full of stuff....weird.

yup...the front door is open.

There are still beds and furniture inside. But everything is in a shambles. I will be heading out that way tomorrow, if I get there I plan to take another look around.
