So I have this headcanon where Irma and Donnie make digs at each other whenever they flip their shit over random cute guy / April. Despite their ridiculousness, they share a similar sense of dry, sarcastic humour. Snark couples guys, you know I can't resist them.Related content

LOL! I like the sarcastic tone she would have, but I always thought that if Irma DID get introduced in the show, Donnie would've saved her, but she wouldn't have worn her glasses and couldn't get a good look at him, so she assumed he was some big, hulking guy. (Plus, if there was ever a "snark couple" I want to see in the show, it'd be Mona Lisa and Raph!)

Hee, yes! You keep picking up on all my Donnie/Irma headcanons. I loved that idea too, only I imagined that's how Irma came to have a snarky relationship with Donatello - I could imagine her reacting badly after donning her glasses again. And YES to Mona Lisa/Raph with the snark. They would be the ultimate snark pairing. All the snark points would go to them.

Well, they ARE bringing back Mutegen Man from the 80s show for season 2, PLUS a "reunion" of the original voice casters (ie, the VAs who aren't Rob Paulsen), so I highly suspect we'll get a few 80s characters getting the makeovers. Oh man, I can so see Irma as this sort of Hipster, but with a heart of gold.

Gosh, yeah I just read those spoilers earlier this evening. How trippy/bizarre is the episode going to be where (I'm assuming) the 1987!TMNT meet the current TMNT? I'll just be waiting for the inevitable joke on 1987!Raphael sounding terribly similar to current Donatello. And yeah, it certainly looks that way. I wonder who else will be dredged up. It would be nice to see Mona Lisa, considering the incredible fanbase she has. Plus, I'm all for more female characters in the show.
Haha, the hipster with a heart of gold? Love it. I almost feel I'm way too old to be getting this excited about these spoilers. Almost. But not quite.

I think it's a tad early for another "Turtles Forever" special, but who knows how they'll pull it off. Maybe a dream sequence? And good God, yes we need more females! We barely had any in the 80s and it was only limited to Karai and April in 2k3 (from what I can remember). Have female characters doesn't always mean love interests, people! Yeah, I think Mona has a way better chance of being a character. They could easily tie it in with Kraang and the Genome project. Believe it or not, there are people demanding Venus come back (though not much). It's nice that she has love, but Mona Lisa would be way better, especially if they got Abby from NCIS to voice her.
TOO OLD?!?! Sweetie, I just turned 30 and I'm writing a TMNT fan fiction. You're fine!

That's what I was thinking, but from the interview it certainly sounds like they'll be doing something like that in season 2.
Urgh, yes! I mean, as far as I'm aware TMNT has always been hugely popular with both male/female audiences, so I really wish they'd give us a better male/female character balance in the series. It's not like there aren't plenty of female characters to choose from in the wider TMNT canon. That's partly why I'm really hoping Irma and Mona will show up as series regulars, because so far we've got the playful/dark & mysterious Karai, and April (whose character I feel needs some serious fleshing out, because I wouldn't even know how to begin describing this incarnation other than "stubborn"), and I think characters like Irma and Mona would give us a good variety/balance of female characters to match all the blokes.
I was never a big fan of Venus myself, so I can't say I'm really fussed on her. There were some cracking female characters in the comics, though.
I'm turning 28 this year, so I'm not far behind you haha! Do we get medals for being in a fandom for 20 plus years? I feel we should have medals.

I'm sure the creators/producers know by now there are just as many female fans as male fans. I'm sure we'll get some great female characters in the future. And I highly expect April to be more fleshed out. I mean, the Kraang ARE after her for a reason. We just don't know what it is yet....
I don't have any medals; how about a llama?
