Description So here's part 3 of the comic! Not much dialogue in this piece, but that makes sense since there's mostly just action shots. I tried to make this page seem fairly dynamic by using a few more diagonal edges for the panels and making each shot occur over a small time frame. Whether or not it worked, I can't say for sure. Oh, and one thing I realized that may be unintentionally confusing is the number ofΒ Ragrussehs (the flying predators) attacking the group. There are two separate ragrussehs attacking our protagonists: one that is attacking the tent and the other that attempts to kill Frube. Once I started finalizing it, I realized that you never see the two predators in the same shot together-whelp, my bad!

Also, if one is wondering why these predators took such a brash approach when attacking Taurohs, a technologically advanced species with a great capacity to kill, it's because this pair is experienced with killing the Tauroh species. Most Tauroh that this pair encounters are nothing more that treasure seekers who are just looking to make a quick buck from grabbing some fancy new device. These taurohs are highly inexperienced with the surface's dangers, and this pair of ragrussehs have found that fast and vicious attacks work exceedingly well on these visitors. What made the attack on this tauroh group different is the presence of Frube; she's a veteran to the surface and thus was much more able to handle the ragrussehs. Chances are that the predators would have successfully cut this story short if it were not for Frube's quick thinking and experience.

I love the action sequence here. As a writer I often get so bogged down with the characters & politics that I forget about action altogether--which is kind of bad on my part because if you think about it, these exciting scenes are really what scifi is all about. Remember when Luke got attacked by the ice monster and had to get out of the cave? Completely gratuitous with respect to the overall story arc, but no one complained because those moments are really what draw us in as viewers. Pretty much the same thing happened in New Hope when Luke got attacked by the dianoga--if that critter had been taken out of the script nothing would have really been changed, but it was a great thing to include because it added more excitement without slowing things down.

Actually the confusion on the actual number of attackers is great.

Got to agree with Leggurm there. Best panel. I guess it wasn't SuperTauroh...

I especially love the "Skree" panel.

Thanks! Yeah, that panel was a lot of fun to make.
