Description ...I just want to let you know, get off of my back..."~ "Get Off of My Back" written by Bryan Adams

"Kel yanked him back just as the gelding struck. 'Oh I see,' Dom remarked, unruffled. 'A testy pony.''~pg 40, Squire

~~~
My entry for 's contest here: [link]
Everyone's favorite Neal-nibbling, grouchy gelding as a human! Most likely the result of an accidental experimentation of a resident black-robed mage. But by the look in his eyes, Numair better make himself scarce...
Peachblossom seems like the scary kind of friend where it takes forever for them to get to like you but they are continually over protective when you finally are. He'd stare down anyone who would even talk to Kel.
LOL Um, I am a closet Spirit: SotC geek girl. SERIOUSLY, I get CHILLS listening to the music from that movie. UGH, I try to hide it better tho
Bright-Circle In reply to whitelyte [2010-02-02 19:08:10 +0000 UTC]
It's good, fitting music! I really admired how words really were barely needed and hardly used, like in Wall-E. Spirit's character really came through in the music, which was exactly what it needed to be.
whitelyte In reply to Bright-Circle [2010-02-02 20:40:12 +0000 UTC]
LOL exactly! Did you watch the behind the scenes feature about the music?
No, but I should.
whitelyte In reply to Bright-Circle [2010-02-03 03:37:44 +0000 UTC]
It was really amusing because Hans Zimmer was like "yeah I had this thought that the music was going to speak for Spirit so when Bryan came into the studio and the first thing is "Here I am, this is me", kind of blew that idea." Paraphrasing, obviously
Bright-Circle In reply to whitelyte [2010-02-03 16:09:30 +0000 UTC]
How did it blow it?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
whitelyte In reply to Bright-Circle [2010-02-03 20:32:03 +0000 UTC]
No not blow it, negatively, but Zimmer's original idea had to be tweaked It worked out, but it was just kindof funny the way he presented it.
Bright-Circle In reply to whitelyte [2010-02-04 01:10:24 +0000 UTC]
OH oh. Like perhaps, Zimmer's original idea was to have orchestral music only, no songs.
whitelyte In reply to Bright-Circle [2010-02-04 06:13:08 +0000 UTC]
Yes! LOL but then we wouldn't have the great songs of Bryan Addams to swoon over
HOMG woman! Have you not read "Squire"? He's Domitan of Masbolle, sergent of the King's Own. If you haven't read the book, I shall say no more. That book deserves to be unspoiled until you reach it. (Of which I'm sure you know, that it is my favorite )
Bright-Circle In reply to whitelyte [2010-02-02 19:07:06 +0000 UTC]
No, I read them all (up until the Beka Cooper books, which are still on my reading list)... it's just been a while. What did Dom do?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
whitelyte In reply to Bright-Circle [2010-02-02 20:41:53 +0000 UTC]
Oh, well, in the quote he was about to pet Peachblossom, but Kel grabbed his arm before Peachblossom bit him, and the quote was his reaction. Just basically an emphasis of PB's character
Bright-Circle In reply to whitelyte [2010-02-02 21:10:35 +0000 UTC]
Hmm. I can't believe I still can't remember him!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
whitelyte In reply to Bright-Circle [2010-02-03 03:40:02 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, in the fandom, he's known as Kel's most likely love interest, since Neal (*crysob*) was taken
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Bright-Circle In reply to whitelyte [2010-02-03 16:10:50 +0000 UTC]
*back from wiki research* I think I may like Dom better for Kel anyway--loved Neal as her friend, but them being romancey is a little weird.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
whitelyte In reply to Bright-Circle [2010-02-03 20:30:44 +0000 UTC]
LOL after reading the series ump-teen times, I agree, Dom may be a better fit for her. However! Neal has been my favorite since he opened his mouth and the sheer brillance of his AWESOME spilled forth and I was like "THIS!" LOL so it was only natural for me to want my favorite heroine and favorite charater to end up together. *sigh* And then Squire happened :/ I love everything about that book, except for the shippage. It was like "BAM! Kel's in love with Cleon (gag) and Neal loves Yuki (who shows up halfway through the book)" I'm sorry, I'd like some build up with my romances, if you don't mind? It felt very convinient and rushed... and now I'm gonna go pout like a Jacob/Bella fan.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Bright-Circle In reply to whitelyte [2010-02-04 01:19:45 +0000 UTC]
I'm quite fond of Cleon, but the romance did happen suddenly, and I didn't quite feel it the way it perhaps was intended.
But I think I would have also felt something wasn't quite right with Neal/Kel, too. He's her friend--being her lover would have been a bit wrong.
But I tend to really value deep friendships as much as, and sometimes more than, romances. That's also why if I were involved with Twilight, I'd be my own brand of Jacob/Bella fan, because he was her friend. I'd want her to pick friendship over romance.
whitelyte In reply to Bright-Circle [2010-02-04 06:16:09 +0000 UTC]
I get cha *nods* I'm more of the "friendship-turned-something-more" but sometimes friendship is enough
Bah, Kel's a tough one to pin down anyway. She'll be like Raoul() and stay single until she hits 40
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Bright-Circle In reply to whitelyte [2010-02-05 01:51:26 +0000 UTC]
I do also like when romance develops out of friendship too--that seems the most, er, valid of all romances. Except sometimes romance from friendship seems wrong.
AHHH! I love it!
Perfect. I've never thought of what Peachblossom would look like as a human... But I like it! It's exactly what he would look like, if I had imagined him.
Numair should run. Quickly.
Maybe he should have turned him into something less mobile. Like a tree. -Que Tristan-
Lol it's amazing what other people can come up with that you have never given thought to. It happens all the time to me! But thank you
ha ha, I think this change was completely accidental. You know black-robed mages, they can't be bothered with something so trivial as a magicial shield. But I'm sure Peachblossom will find something *coughorsomeonecough* to keep him occupied until Numair can fix it.
