Description
STEPS:
1. We do the basic shape of the magic
2. Now, let's copy the basic shape on a layer under it and lower the opaccity.
3. We blend each layer
4. Add a new layer set to Lumi and Shade and with a slightly darker color of the base add some shade with the Brush and blend it.
5. On a new layer set to Shade add an even darker color and blend it aswell.
6. Add a layer set to Luminosity and with a lighter color than the base, add shine to the borders and blend.
7. Finally, on two new layers add details such as shine and shapes depending on the type of magic (Ex. Skulls for black magic, leaves for earth magic, etc.)

Enegry balls:

Simple:
1. With Air Brush, add the base color on a normal layer.
2. On a new layer set to Luminosity, still using the Air Brush and a lighter color than the base and shine to the middle of the energy ball.
3. On a new layer set to Shade, under both of previous layers, use the Air Brush to add some effects.

With energy waves:
1. After having the energy ball done, use a new layer set to Normal and a similar color to the energy ball's one to add some random waves under it with the Air Brush.
2. Now, on a new layer set to Shade, using the Air Brush and a darker color, add some shading at the base

With energy stripes:
1. After having the energy ball done, use a new layer set to normal and a similar color to the energy ball's one to add some random stripes arround it with the Air Brush.
2. Now, on a new layer set to Luminosity, using the Air Brush and a lighter color, add some highlights accross the stripes.
