I saw this going around, reading up on many posts, looking up so many articles, evidence images and watched other professional artists' videos about what AI images are currently like and how the process on how they are made is currently structured....and I just had to join this protest as well.

I've been following this AI news since it first dropped and the glaring legal issues started to pop up. I've seen, interacted and seen so many Pro-AI prompters actually ATTACK ARTISTS for seeking to defend their own and the REAL art of many other artists. There is no effort put into typing in words into a prompt, the results BY LAW are owned by NO ONE as the HUMAN ELEMENT has been removed completely upon its creation. It is completely insulting for these prompters--who literally anyone can type in words into a search engine and pick out the results they like--to call themselves ARTISTS. It's no different than using Google images to look up something that looks close to what you imagined. And then there are those that are only into it for money.....calling themselves artists, selling works while purposely leaving out proper AI tags, lying about origins of said works as theirs and selling them for far less than an actual artist would.

THIS ALL HARMS ARTISTS AS IT CURRENTLY STANDS.

There NEEDS to be regulations on it as it's all just one HUGE dataset filled with stolen works, broken copyrights and a VAST majority of the art the programs just scrapped up of the internet were done so without the artists' consent. I've seen, read and experienced enough that--AI as it currently is--is NOT a tool for artists. It's to REPLACE THEM. Many artists who made art for a living have already lost their jobs for large companies to bring in AI programs to generate art in their place. Far cheaper to run a machine than it is to pay a human apparently....

There ARE ways for AI to be run fairly and ethically--but how it is now, this isn't it and it's mainly only benefiting business people, large companies and scammers. Humanity first.....the human race is a species that has no purpose upon being born and spend our lives looking for that purpose.....and once it's picked, we work towards being skilled enough for that purpose. For many, it's art.....don't take this away from us.
