| FIRST | Next --->Coverpage for ~PCBC Battle tournament, where this round I've been paired up against the amazing =Greyflame . Going into this I know I don't have a hope in hell at out writing or out plotting him, so it's gonna have to be about how much prettyness I can squeeze out of myself over the next two weeks.
Kylie; Charizard and Kyran; ready to slaughter one another, sincerest apologies for the suckyfaces.

Lawl I just.. painted them in like that?
Just soft-edged orange brush first; then doing the yellow parts in much stronger, more deliberate strokes with a hard edged brush; them accentuating everything with the patches of white and the little wispy specks that come off the top;

Can you explain the 'patches of white'?

Soft-ish brush; where the "fire burns most intensely" or where it's supposed to be the hottest; add low opacity streaks of white or just generally lighten the area of the yellow; towards the bottom or centre most especially.
It adds variety to the flames, as well as giving them most intensity.

haha I'll try to finish the Beedrill vs Lopunny eventually; perhaps once I get knocked out of the tournament and don't have deadlines to meet! xD
I'm glad you like how Kylie turned out, xDDD that skirt is a real pain to draw, so it's certainly nice to hear that I pulled it off. Kyran... what can I say; I messed up the facial anatomy a bit, but I was really trying to give him this really powerful, military sort of appearance. After all, he's the biggest challenge Kylie has had to face yet.
oo yeah the fire/flying is a tough thing to combat with bugs, but I have super special ways of taking out those big dragons 
I've actually got all the pages for this round (mostly) inked up; so at very least I'll submit the battle; I've just gotta work on making it pretty

Epic! Gotta love that Charizard! But if you're worried about not finishing, maybe you should considering making less... 'finished' pages. I know it's hard, but I've actually been contemplating about doing the same for SoL. Shocking, I know. Lol.

yeah you're right about the pages; I don't think this round is going to be nearly as polished or colourful compared to previous ones, which scares me because my opponent is good. The only thing I've possibly got over him is the art factor, so it does need to be super impressive if I wanna have a hope of outshining his story.
ohno! I hope you don't cut back too much on SoL, the last chapter or so has been amazing, so it would be a shame to see it unpolished. Although the sketchier stuff you upload to dA is still often very impressive... I guess we'll just see how it works out for you

Hmm, don't forget that you're good too. I haven't really checked out the other guy's work yet, so if you say he's good, then that must be true. But I think you have a good chance too. And even if you do lose, maybe people will just wild card you back? I know it's not something you should just take for granted, but I think everybody wants a shot at Kylie. If you get knocked out here, that means they'd lose that chance. XD
Well, I'm working on some experimental SoL pages right now. Once I get to that point with the buffer, I'll show them. Some of them are colored sketches, like you've seen in my gallery. Other are grey-scale or even black and white. I'm still not sure which style to pick, but I'll tell more about that once we get there. But the definite good thing about all of this is the fact that I should be able to speed the updates up. That way your cameo should be able to make his debute a lot sooner too.

or even a larger veriety of bugs. almost all of yours are weak against fire.

I chose the team based on how ruthless or creepy they looked, or one that could be utilized as a weapon; I've got plans for Puff, if I get this round completed you'll see them.
I don't have a Surskit because it's one of those "oh-my-god-why-did-you-invent-this?" kinds of Pokemon; I stayed true to the generations that were decent, hence the reason I don't have any of the lame Generation 3 or 4 monsters.
PCBC doesn't have a set list of rules about it; it's just the standard "no Legendaries". This isn't an in game team so I don't really care about how those physics work. Yes, in the games a fire Pokemon would sweep my team and, but I'm not playing the games; so the rules are mine to make.
