Sorry for all the grammatical errors, I'm not really very good in the English grammar!!!Thank you a lot to for helping me to fix the grammar!!!
When I start this, I was so afraid of what could happen if I ost it, but I'm happy of doing right now!
Before someone say something like: WHO ARE YOU TO TELL HOW MAKE OCs?!?!?! Well, I not order you to read or follow what it says, I did this Tutorial for everybody that would like read it or for those new artists that doesn't know how start their stories and everything! Because today we seen so many gallery of people full of talent but that only does always bishonens or pretty girls (or boys that look like pretty girls), that doesn't risk to try new styles or ideas for fear of what other people could say!
So, if I insulted someone with this tutorial, I apologize and not take it personal because this is my opinion only!

LOL me too! it would be lovely, like a true love story XDDD! you know sometimes you just want something DIFFRENT than the ussual. cuz in high school romance manga it's mostly like this, a totaly normal girl who had no past experience in romance falls in love with the most popular guy in school.
these days i'v been looking for a romance manga where the guy is really punky (and i dont mean like those bishonen gangster-wanabees) and the girl is a bit of a nerd. that would be cute X3. and the story dosnt ONLY revolve around the 2 main characters, i always wounder who their friends will end up with.
but you just cant find such mangas easily.

heh, I just think it would be a cute thing to see and thank you! I just thing that love stories can be make of any way, for example, I have this story (at first, parody of romeo and juliet) of Roma, a tomboyish looking girl that like a lot the theater and Julian, a nice but sorta geek guy that do kabuki (but he doesn't look at all like a woman!)

lol yeah XD and sometimes the guy would be all cool-like and keeps flirting and teasing the girl but she doesnt like it and starts hitting him (in manga's like this the girl is really manly and has super-strength) and then something happens between them and she starts loving him.
i will! y'kno i'v been looking for such a long time now in manga websites but i just cant find ANY manga with REAL punks >.< (punks with wiered hairstyles and tattoos and stuff). i wouldnt really watch it if the girl was punky too though >_> cuz i bet all that they would be doing is fight, but if the girl isnt punky, she might actually bing out the guys softer side XD that would be cute!

yeah and all the guys in that manga like her, i just hate those kinda really manly girls, i mean it's okay if the main character likes her, but all they guys? no way!

i made a romeo and juliet parody once but it wasnt like a manga on it's own, it was included in one of my stories as the t.v series that everyone likes to watch. it was called "Julio and Romiet" and it was a love like a wiered love story, i havent thought much about it tho, since it was a small part in the main story.

the story was cute, a geeky girl and a suppost bad guy start a friendship for accident and the romance grow up very slow, thta was so cute!
in mine, they are the main characters but the story is far from focus in their relationship (becuase it start mostly at the middle of the story actually!) but mostly is about friendship, partnership, some retro tributes and literature parodies

Is there anything special you want to know, just ask!
In general I usually recommend to be very clear with what you offer in your commission journal
What kind of styles do you offer? bust/half-/full body? prices?
Is there some things that you don't draw?

Anyway, the MOST important thing (in my opinion) is to always ask for payment before you start on the commission. Half payment or the whole payment, just make sure you get some kind of money.
Many people who offer commissions have been tricked into drawing stuff and never got payed in the end, since commissioner just take the art and run. >.<

I made my paypal-account a really really long time ago >.< (years ago), so I don't remember much about creating it.
I think there are a lot of good tutorials here on dA on various paypal stuff, like how you send money and stuff.

I'm making a manga set in a fantasy land and in it the three intelligent races are humans, demons and shinigami. All three are the ones you said were over used.
However other than that, none of my OCs follow any of those conventions and thus aren't stereotypical.
