Description This is fanart of Myrrh, a new bit-character in the comic The Wotch. She is a maid for a psycotic archmage named Sykos. Said Archmage once mixed up all his magical reagents into one huge pot, added a pinch of Ginger, and let it sit overnight. When his maid went to clean it up the next day, the resulting goo attacked her, and, er, won.

The result is Myrrh, a plesantly smelling (Myrrh is also a spice, this is a pun), amorphous humanoid made of transparent green goo. In the comic she doesn't have legs so far, but, the pose I was using did, so... In the comic she can create clothing and tools out of her own body, so in my mind, making legs isn't a huge stretch. Creating tools is actually somewhat cute, since she does apparently leave a thin layer of goo on things she touches -- although it's possible she "pulls back" the goo when she's done.

This also marks my first drawing in over 3 years, so, it's somewhat rusty. I never was very good to begin with, and having not touched anything in years kinda doesn't help. Drawn in Alias Sketchbook Pro with my Wacom. Background is from a random google image search, pose is from a picture by Peter Hegre. She's nekkid, but I'm not clicking the Mature content box since, well, there's nothing to really see.

The Wotch is located here: [link]

It is signed KiTA, btw, because that is my pen-name outside of DeviantArt, on forums and the like. It was already used here, so instead I used an alternate one I use in games.

It was pretty easy to do, actually. In Photoshop, I set the skintone a bit darker than I actually wanted, then set the layer to be about 25 - 50% transparency. The background is a photo, so just making the layer shine through did all the transparency.

The shading I did on another layer on top of the skintone, using very, very transparent shades of black and white (with a little help by setting the layers to very lightly transparent). The eyes I did on a seperate layer still, so I could set their transparency seperately -- they're slightly more opaque.

If I was feeling hugely ambitious I'd try something like Otowa's crystal girl, and use wraparound effects in Photoshop, but, er, I think it'll be years before I can catch up with his abilities.

Someday I'll do Synthea fanart and/or perhaps my own goo-girl comic. Have the idea all plotted out, just needs fleshing out. And, you know, the drawing.

Bah, it's always the details that get in the way of good ideas.

Well, I did use a photo for the pose. No tracing, of course, rather a lot of alt tabbing and re-doing lines until I was happy with it. Did it in one long night.

However, I did hunt through my collection of anatomy reference photos for one that was simplistic enough to use. As you can see in my scraps (Those that I have uploaded), when I'm on my own or doing a frontal pose the results are... less than great.

If you can do this, though, then i know you got more pics in you...
