A planet crackled into view, filling the window that was half of the cockpit's convex space-- pink."Inhabitable?" You say.
"93% chance that it is inhabited by intelligent life. You can ignore it though, there are more pressing matters. This universe is filled"
"It seems so."
"what do you propose we do? you are onsite" said the voice. It was your A.I.
As you awoke in your tiny flower-shaped cockpit, a backwards bud hurling through space, you remember very little other than that. This universe was supposed to be one of the blank ones, and you were to fill it.
The ship you pilot is a Seed, in many senses. It has the ability to plunge into any object, of almost any size (absolutes have not been determined), and explore the essence of it. If the ship were to leap into the heart of a galaxy, you would explore stars, black holes, quasars. If you were to leap into the heart of a star, you would explore magnetic surges, energies, nuclear forces and the churning elements. The same is true of a person, an element, or a brain. Objects can be collected from the explored regions of these bizarre forms of space, collected in the form of essence.
This Seed ship can load up pure essence of any type collected by the pilot or the A.I. and inject it, with a blast into any object, altering it. It can fire an essence into empty space, allowing it to become a world of itself, or a universe even.
Upon exploring the essence of a thing, the ship is able to assume that world as if it belonged there, altering it's structure and the pilot so that the fundamental laws of that miniature universe do not expel the intrusion. Only then can you truly explore a universe freely, when altered by it. (to be clear, whenever you enter an object, you change)
But all you can remember is that you were to fill this space with an earth-world, with a solar system to provide a space for people, presumably. You have aboard your ship just that-- Essence of Solar system and all the things within it.
You are not surrounded by empty space. Indeed there is a pink planet, likely inhabited, and billions of twinkling stars. What a disaster.
The A.I., impatient for your decision interrupts you. "Well? What shall we do?"

A crowd of them looks up. "meeep mee meeep mep" is all it sounds like when they talk back. "I might remind you that we are trying to escape the attention of the crew" said the a.i. "we could zoom into one of these organisms and then zoom out to wherever they are, allowing us a different vantage"

The a.i. opened abck up for you to get inside.

The ship encloses around you and points toward one of the people. "any preference as to which one?" asks the a.i.

"That one" points to one of the female ones

"That one" I point to a random one

Suddenly there is a shift and the world whirls around you. "wow let's pull back, pull back" says the a.i. slowing down extremely fast, throwing you forward in the cockpit where you had ended up. There in front of the Seed was an enormous pink glow. "we should stay away from that...it's so large-- and head out of this person now" says the a.i. , "we just don't have to pop out where we went in, get it? now that we've entered one of the crew, we can skip coming out of the ship that we entered, and just exit this crew member"

"yeah but why is there only a seed here with a pink glow?"

"I'm sure there's more here" said the a.i. "we just need to avoid this thing"

"right" I look around to see what's else is out there

The pink cloud passing on the right revealed a few planet looking things, one of which seemed to be segmented, like a rolled up potato bug. There were joints on lines along it, almost as if it had legs embedded in it's enormous surface. There was another object. It looked like a moon of somekind with a human base. THere was a flag anyway, and metal (not wierd crystal) ships/buildings.

The a.i.'s voice chirped, "right away sir. And should we visit it or zoom into it?" the ship already flew low, showing a satellite's view of the moon's surface. mostly it was bare, with some buildings in a cluster surrounding a crater, a vehicle and a launch pad outside.

"coming down to the front door" says the a.i. Soon you notice that the ship is opening but there is a barrier, a translucent glow in front of the ship. "that's right...I forgot to calibrate you for our last zoom. You can't leave the ship until I orient you for this world" said the a.i. "put out your hands" it said.

Your skin tingles and your arms twitch as your skin is replaced with an exoskeleton and an extra pair of arms comes out your sides. "finished" it said, and the barrier was down.

"well what do I look like?"

The mirror slides out of it's hidden spot in the ceiling and pivots to position in front of you, showing you, but with brown, rough shell where skin was before. Your face has etchings in it where mandibles should be, but it's as if you are a human evolved from a bug, and the mandibles became lost in time, leaving only some historic marks behind.

As you walk out, you notice there is an astronaut wearing a clunky space suit standing and staring at you. You can't see what he looks like inside. The dwelling behind him is all metal and shiny, with a little orange flag.

He raises one hand and puts his palm toward you.

There was no response, but the astronaut turned and waved for you to follow.

He opens the door to the dwelling and you hear the a.i. folding up behind you, stepping along like a robotic dog. He waves it along too. "come in" you hear as the door seals. "we're observing a strange phenomenon. are you, incidentally, a part of it?" the helmet retreated to show an insect like face, almost identical to yours, not quite insect, but evolved therefrom. "That planet is infected with a strange virus. or radiation. It does odd things. " He sighed. "and it's my home planet. but I can't go back as long as the infection is there" he shrugged. "do you know anything about it?"

He nods. "so you aren't from the pink cloud in our system? I had assumed you were since you came from that direction, similar to all the aliens that came earlier. But you look far too similar to me" he said.

The a.i. interrupted suddenly. "I think I know what is going on. May I have a word?" it chirped.

"It appears that the pink cloud is able to move from world to world, as we do. It, however, does not adapt to the world it enters. it simply bores a hole in it, allowing access of entities from other worlds. That's how the same cloud exists here and in other worlds. that still doesn't answer the question of why it has no origin point for the two comet-ships. The signal seemed to come from everywhere." the a.i. cleared it's throat. "I think we need to look at the possibility that we are causing it to spread"

"We don't know how this universe was even filled with...stuff. We came here expecting to fill it with our solar system's essence and to create space...but when we arrived there already was a whole universe to explore. My guess is that this isn't due to the fact that the universe was the wrong one...we entered the previously empty one..." he gulped, "we were infected before the trip began. the question remains however. What or who would want that to happen?" There was an awkward silence.

*I decide to head back to the ai so I could think not knowing if my infection would affect me more like change me into a girl*

"welcome back" said the a.i. as the ship enclosed around you.

"we need to think of what we're going to do if we are infected then does that mean I'm going to transform or something like the others also who would want to infect us"

"It appears that transforming is what is supposed to happen....things that come through the pink portal are not supposed to be here and that has huge consequences" said the a.i.

"so it's our fault, ai can you scan me to see if I'm really am infected?"

"I can. but keep in mind that it could be me as well" "scanning" "infection not found"

"but how did you get infected and why aren't you transforming?"

"The infection doesn't appear to cause transformation or affect that at all. My function is to transform the pilot so he can enter a new world without causing ill effects. the infected is more like a trojan horse. it comes in, opens up, and moves on, spreading a hole through the worlds. I'm not sure who would want a pathway clear like that, but it is clear..."

"is there a way to cure you, also if your infected then wouldn't being in you affect me as well?"

"not necessarily on both accounts. I think I can answer the first question by looking for a solution, but as for the second...it may be that it moves through a world quickly, not infecting all of the parts of it? I'm not sure."
