Dont know about you , but I am boycotting SW , until the day they start making good movies again .I really didnt liked The last jedi .
And as someone that is following SW since 1977 , yes , I am a fan of the original trilogy the way it was .
If you like the new SW , good for you .
BUT , That is not for me or my generation anymore .
I will be here building my model kits of the original trilogy , drawing my toon girls , and keep listening to Mauler , Worldsclassbulshiters , and geeks and gamers .

Totally and completely agree with you. I have not seen TLJ, and will not. Will not watch Soylo, have only watched TFA once (which is unheard of for me as being a Star Wars fan since '77) and Rogue One once. I think that the second trilogy (Episode 1,2,3) were better then TFA. I had a bad feeling about SW when I heard Disney bought it. So like you I will not watch it, will boycott anything Disney does with SW, and will till they get rid of KK, Rian Johnson.

Today, I feel the closest to you than I've felt since I first saw your Jenny drawings. What Disney has been doing with Star Wars is unacceptable, and goes way beyond Lucas' idiocy with the Prequels. I already feel annoyed that I paid money to see TFA and R1 in theaters, although I never went to see them multiple times as I had with the previous movies (sans TCW).
Kathleen Kennedy has harnessed the franchise for her own selfish purposes, she's on an ego trip to become the most feministic feminist of all feminists and go down in the history of Social Justice as a central figure for taking one of the most famous film series away from those evil, straight white men. This is infuriatingly stupid, because Star Wars was already inclusive. In just six years, she has managed to a) ruin the ending of the Original Trilogy, b) destroy Lucas' canon structure (where only the films are canon, then there's the EU and so on) by discarding the EU and making every new comic, video game and novel canon, c) shown extremely poor handling of film production by firing directors, ordering reshoots and forming her story group based on diversity quotas rather than meritocracy, d) wreck whatever chances we had for Mark, Carrie and Harrison to reunite on screen for one final time and e) pretty much devalue the franchise as a whole (however, I don't know if Kennedy's to blame for Electronic Arts – the worst video game publishing company ever – for getting exclusive rights to SW games, but that sucks as well). I'm honestly surprised how these cunts are oblivious to the failure of the female Ghostbusters reboot as well as the success of MCU: it's not a good idea to shit on your original fans.
I envy those people who were there to witness the Original Trilogy when it was brand new, although I should also consider myself to be lucky since I managed to get introduced to the movies in the early '90s, right before the Special Editions and the prequels, so in some ways I feel more camaraderie with the old cadre. I tried getting in on with the prequels but it just wasn't the same. However, at least with those movies you got something kind of new, even if it was poorly written and full of stupid CGI creatures. It's garbage, but I can respect it a whole lot more than something like TFA, which is a movie that cynically attempts to recreate familiar imagery from the OT while practically remaking the original 1977 movie, except with boring new characters and a poorly-constructed universe. R1 is probably the least offensive Disney offering of SW so far, but it's completely unnecessary, strangely disjointed, incredibly dull and was used by two of its writers as to prop up their side of the 2016 U.S. presidential election – as if we needed to be reminded of that when going to see what is supposed to be escapistic entertainment.
However, I must say that nothing had prepared me for the shit show that was TLJ, which single-handedly destroyed my favourite SW protagonist, Luke Skywalker, while bringing in 2017 progressive politics in the form of Admiral Holdo and the Canto Biden subplot. In addition, rules for the Star Wars universe were broken, character development was mishandled (Finn's heroic suicide gets interrupted, Kylo Ren turns into a stock villain, Snoke is a fucking nobody that gets offed and Rey continues to be an insufferable Mary Sue) and there's strange, misplaced humour everywhere because Kennedy hired a beta male director who obsesses over subverting expectations for the sake of, well, subverting expectations. It is absolutely baffling, then, that Rian Johnson was rewarded by this abortion of a movie with a deal for three more!
Solo will be a complete mess, and if the leaks are true, the writing will be on the level of your average fan fiction. Also, they now have a female droid (L3-37 – get it?) who not only built herself (because she don't need to organic master) but is also interested in droid rights. Fuck this shit. My advice is to never go see another Star Wars movie, don't buy the toys, don't read the comics or the novels, don't give EA your money for mediocre video games... just get yourself copies of Harmy's Despecialized Editions, rent Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy (the real VII, VIII and IX) and purchase digital copies of classic '90s SW games like X-Wing or TIE Fighter. You'll do fine with those – I know I did for most of the '90s, and will still do to this day. You won't be able to kill Disney and not stop the influx of new SW movies, but they will take action when the sales start dropping. Who knows, maybe ol' Kathy will get the boot if she continues to mishandle the property.

Couldn't agree more with everything you said. I can enjoy the prequels despite their penchant for stupid because at least they were interested in furthering lore and telling a story, what Kennedy and Johnson have combined to accomplish with TLJ is the exact opposite of this, it is the antithesis of Star Wars, it's now just a hollow shell used to fuel egotism and push regressive narratives..
I still haven't come to terms with the absolute cucifixion of Luke's character. Even Hamill himself is on record saying to Rian during production that everything he was doing with Luke's character was wrong, and he still didn't care, he's even wearing the backlash like a badge, saying that if people are this upset then he must be doing something right.
No, Rian, you degenerate psychopath, you are not. You are a garbage human who along with Kennedy has ruined something that was special, important even, to so many. You make me sick.

The only time I liked Last Jedi was when Luke, Rey, or Ren was on the screen. I didn't like Ren in the The Force Awakens, but he seems to have grown on me. But I've read that Solo is weak for the first 30 or 40 minutes, just clunking along but wakes up for the rest of the film. Ron Howard is a solid director and knows how to tell a story, so I'm somewhat hopeful. I think all the hate for SW in general lately is because of the direction Kathleen Kennedy has taken the franchise....and the word I'm looking for starts with an M and ends with a Y.
