Xeigle and little Keiai, drawn for *-achiru- 's Parenthood Contest, which you can read about here: [link]This is my "Father's Day" entry. Augh, my style is so different from hers, but I hope the characters are at least somewhat recognizable! ^__^; I went for a sketchy monochrome look with the coloring, and I think it captured the mood I was going for. Done in mechanical pencil and Photoshop 5.5.

It is so amazing. your works are stunning. I remember when I saw them on google few years ago. I was about 13. And I was shocked.. Later I've started to write a book about fantazy. the book was filled of illustrations. The fantazy and pencil were the best friends to me.

*sigh* This is a very beautiful picture. Doesn't seem to be bad to become a father when one sees this picture. A happy moment of a metting of young and elder frozen in time on pape... errr... bytes. Protection for the fragile, proudness and love from the elder, sleepy curiousity from the small one, discovering the world.
Would fit my character's RPG campaign story very much. (My elf of the forests became *cough* accidentally father. But is caring now for their little one, even if he doesn't completely understand the human mother...)

I've been having to stare at this for a long time before commenting because every time I look at it I turn into a puddle of gushing and squealing, so I can't say anything. It's. So. Adorable.
It's really the father's pose and face that gets me. He's huddled up with that satisfied expression looking at his baby and it just gives me the shivers.
