I was wondering why the it's good to draw outside the panels? also, is there another way to make the lines look professional on photoshop if you're going to be coloring it?

Hah! I was reading the part about the materials you used and I saw "a pentel clickeraser" as "dickeraser". Oh, I wish there were dickerasers in real life.

Hi, I'm new to everything that has to do with photoshop so bear with me xD I'm just wondering if it would work to draw the comic directly in ps? Without using a scanner first (I don't have one)?

Oh absolutely! You can draw the comic right in Photoshop. I suggest starting with a layer that would be your sketch so you can create a new layer on top of it for your black line art, easily deleting your sketch layer when you're done.
Also, be sure to make your document the final print size (including bleed). Some comic print websites have good guidelines you can follow with this. Ka-blam is a great printer I've used before and they have easy to use templates you can download: [link]
When you have the template, create a new layer just for the template, and lower the layer opacity to like 10%. So you can just see the guidelines, reminding you not to go past a certain one with text, or your art etc. Keep this layer below the rest of your layers.
Hope that helps some! ^^ Good luck!

I have a Bamboo Fun Wacom.
It sucks Ass.
I want A Aiptek or a Cintiq but Cintiq's cost, like, 200 bucks and I don't have that cash. My dad got me my Bamboo. Do Aiptek's show you your drawing on the screen, or on the tablet too, because that would really help my out if it showed on the tablet. Thanks!

Bamboo Fun's are pretty good. I used mine for a very long time. Aiptek's are actually on a lower end compared to a Wacom. Your Bamboo Fun is actually better than any Aiptek (imo). If you want a tablet that you can view your screen on the tablet itself you'll want to go for the Wacom Cintiq's but they start at $1,000 for the smallest size. I am currently using a Medium Wacom Intuos 4.
Good luck with your art!

Thanks for the advice, but I'm just having a real hard time getting use to Adobe, and the Tablet, Corel Painter, and Fucking Photoshop. I like to play on computers but I don't know how that shit works! Everytime I look up a tutorial on drawing on the tablet it talks about all this and that and Layer this Layer that - I don't know WHAT the fuck is going on. Anyway, thanks

Haha, yes it takes a while to get use to it. If you doodle enough on just a new document so you get a feel for how the tablet works you should get the hang of it. ^^ I suggest making sure the brush you are using is tapered. If you go to select a new brush (you can click a little option arrow that's in the upper right corner of the drop down menu; set it to stroke thumbnail) you can see how the middle of the brush stroke will be thick and the two ends tapered to a point. With this brush you can really see how alternating the pressure you put on the pen makes the line thinner or thicker. Just like how a regular paint brush would work.
Also, your "active" area on your tablet is the same dimensions as your screen. So if you point your tablet pen to the upper left hand corner you should have your cursor hovering over the File command menu. Same for each other corner. That's one way of sort of orienting yourself to think about how your tablet is layed out.
If you need any more help feel free to toss me a message, and good luck with your art!

You can find more info about it, plus new Concept Art at it's dA page . We'll also be updating it still on Y!
